I finally paid my Target credit card off. The interest rate was obscene. Now, I will only use these % off if I can pay the card off right away. It’s so easy to let it pile up and not pay the entire thing off. When you do that, you aren’t saving. It turned out to be an expensive lesson for me.
Watch your spending habits. I always pay off the balance in full every month.
Lower your limit to what is realistic for you to pay off. Credit card interest rates are crazy high.
Get a target debit card. No interest but you still get the same benefits
Agreed. I have my Wallet setup this way, it took me a moment to use the Gift Cards… ALWAY Scan paper coupons first.
The associate at self-checkout gave me a crash course.😎
Same, that’s what I have and I love it.
Store credit cards always have extremely high interest rates for those who don’t pay their bills in full. Be careful.
Does it include diapers?
I believe it does I could not find it under the excludes I’m going today to stock up
Yes! I used it yesterday with the diaper deal!
One time use. I used mine last Sunday
The REDcard debit card is the way to go. It’s just pulling it out of your checking account, so no issues with credit cards or interest rates. You still get the same perks. Yes, it takes a couple of days to pull out of your account, but there’s no worrying about going into debt.
Agreed!
I knew about this coupon & made a large purchase yesterday (over $100) but forgot to show the coupon at checkout 😭… If my Target was closer, I’d drive over but it’ll probably cost my more in gas than the discount is get. I always forget some coupon or something when shopping especially when I have 5 children with me. Oh well… Time to convert to online shopping.
I didn’t realize this was a one time use and I used it on a super small purchase. Bummer!!
Me too! I think I’ve been to Target 3 times this week and assumed it was multiple use.
A Debit card exposes your checking account when there are data breaches or other problems. You can end up with a series of problems if your checking acct is emptied and you have scheduled drafts trying to get money. You have more protection with a credit card since it’s just a balance on the card that you have to get fixed NOT your actual money that’s missing which is what happens with a debit card problem.
That’s why I opened a specific checking acct for my Target debit. I only keep a small balance (has to be enough to avoid bank fees!) and it keeps me from going overboard since I can’t spend what I don’t have!
Scanned mine and it didn’t take an extra 5% off.
Oh bummer! I’m wondering if the item(s) you may have purchased did not qualify? Were you able to check with customer service? Hoping that helps!
I was about to sign up for the debit red card and then saw this on the application:
“If you provide a mobile telephone number, you agree to receive autodialed and prerecorded message calls or texts from us or others acting on our behalf.”
You are required to enter a phone number and I don’t have a landline. Seems pretty shady to not allow you to opt out.
I’ve never gotten those except about my orders. No worries. Go for it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
