There’s a reason it has terrible reviews, it’s terrible. I have the griddle and it heats very unevenly.

Yup–it’s true. It doesn’t heat evenly at all. My husband (the pancake maker) complains about it every time he uses it. It’s funny because the brand we got inexpensively from JCP prior to this one was a champ but I got rid of it because the plastic housing around the griddle broke.
