We switched over to Philo a couple of months ago from Sling. So glad we did. We now get more and better channels for less money. Highly recommend 🙂

I had it then went back to sling for the local channel’s but sling crashes way too much!

      • jacqueline

I don’t get local channels using sling. How do you get them?

        • Sara

It depends on the market you are in. Sling Blue has NBC and Fox in select major markets where the national network owns and operates the local station. If your market doesn’t have live streaming, you will get an on-demand version of that channel.

Orange and Blue used to offer ABC in the $5 Broadcast Extra add-on, but Sling dropped the add-on in June last year because of a licensing dispute with Univision.

CBS isn’t coming anytime soon, if at all. Sling TV doesn’t want the local channels that CBS would require them to carry to be able to have CBS on their service.

            Thanks!

I’ve been with Philo for over a year now. You can’t beat the channels and price. They have something for everyone. I usually watch Lifetime and Hallmark (they have all varieties by the way) while my daughter watches Nickelodeon. They have a descent movie on every night. It’s awesome!

How cool! Thanks a bunch for the feedback! Good to know how much you have been pleased with this service!

    Philo is awesome!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yay! SO glad to hear that, PL!

Does Philo have sports channels. We switched from Sling to Youtube TV for sports coverage and have been happy except YouTube is raising prices.

    • Nancy

They dont have the sports channels. But you may be able to subscribe to some sports specific apps and still save money since Philo is so cheap.

Wondering if this replaces Netflix too?

We had sling in the past but dropped it because it didn’t have discovery and TLC. We’ve had philo for about 6 months and love it. We still have Netflix and Hulu, but the cable shows we love, we’re able to get at a reasonable price. I’m also able to use the network apps to watch past seasons of shows on tlc and discovery by using my philo log in.

Did you have Sling Orange? Sling TV added Discovery and TLC to Sling Blue in November 2018.
