    When does this offer expire?

    • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

Great question, Mrs G! This offer expires 12/31/19. I will add that info to the post!

  2. KLS

Yay! Thank you! I love grocery pick up!

    • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

Us too! You’re SO welcome, KLS!

  3. Gigi

OMG I was just about to place an order and decided to check your app and here’s a code!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

    • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

You’re SO welcome, Gigi! Perfect timing!

  4. jax

Does anyone know if you can use it more than once per account?

    • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

Good question, jax! I see in the terms that there is a limit of only one discount code per order but I don’t see where it excludes you from using the promo code multiple times. That said, I would assume it’s a one time use but you can always call your local Walmart and ask. Hope that helps!

      • Laurie Barreiro

Lol I tried it a second time and wasn’t allowed to.

        • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

Oh, good to know! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, Laurie!

    • AT

I just placed an order successfully using the code and was curious if it was able to be re-used. I went in to try to use it again with another $50 order but received an error message saying that the code had already been used. I think it’s safe to say it’s a one time use per account.

      • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond, AT! We sure appreciate it.

      • jax

        Thanks AT!!!

  5. Christine

Ugh, I picked up my order already today! Oh well, at least it has a great expiration date. This is the first one I’ve seen for existing customers. Thank you so much for sharing!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re welcome! Glad you will be able to use if for next time!

  6. J.H.509

Awesome thanks so much for the promo code. We use pick up all the time. My daughter has autism and hates going to stores. So this has been a lifesaver for us.

    • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

      You’re most welcome, J.H. 509.

  7. Jess

Does anyone know if an elderly person or someone not able to use the web or app is able to call in an order and do store pick up? I would think they would cater to this type of request but not sure.

    • Mel

I can’t imagine they would be able to cater to this type of request. They would be opening a can of worms for themselves if they started that.

    • JA

I actually couldn’t get into my app to let them know I was picking up so I called the front desk and they brought my stuff right out.

    • Elderly

Have someone do the order for this person you can always create an account for them.

  8. Kat

Thank you!! Was just about to shop for groceries for my daughters birthday party and this really helps save some money!

    • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

You’re so welcome, Kat! Happy birthday to your kiddo!

  9. Brooke

Can you use coupons with Walmart grocery pick up?

    • Ann

      No

    • Liz

      Nope

    • Christine

No, but I find that I save because it cuts down on the impulse purchases for me!

  10. Laura

Thank you! This is the ONLY way I grocery shop these days. Walmart hit it out of the park by offering this service. I very rarely shopped at Walmart for groceries before they started offering free pickup!

    • Tm

Me too! I was pregnant with my 4th and just had to try it. Now it’s all I do!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re welcome, Laura! I use this service a lot now too!

  11. Mel

Is this a fairly simple process? I’ve never used their service before but have used Kroger’s. With them I simply placed my order, selected the pick-up time, pulled into one of the designated for pick-up parking spots, called the phone number for that particular spot and that was it. Is that pretty much all there is to it with Walmart’s service?

    • Gigi

That’s exactly how it works with Walmart and the customer service is excellent!! Pickup is now the only way that I shop!!

      • Mel

Thanks, y’all! I’ll definitely try it out this weekend then.

    • Katie

      Same exact process with Walmart.

    • Susan

Yes, Mel – it’s amazing!! Let me start off by saying I’m a grocery store snob and I friggin’ hate Walmart. However, with small children this service is a must have. It’s free! No markups. No tipping! You don’t have to even get out of your car – they load it for you. And you can control your spending costs way better. I loved Publix but I had to switch. Hope you enjoy it as well! 🙂

One thing to keep in mind is that Kroger’s will take physical coupons at the time of pickup and adjust the price. Walmart will not. With the app I don’t even have to call Walmart to let them know I have arrived. I just tap the app before I leave home and they know when I have arrived.

  12. Carlene

Love Walmart grocery service! We even used it to purchase Christmas dinner for family in another state. All they had to do was pull up and get the groceries!

    • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

      What an AWESOME idea, Carlene!

    • jax

Yes!! We use it on vacation. I schedule the pickup for an hour after we arrive usually so we unload the car then run out and get the groceries but it’s SOOOO much quicker!

      • Susan

Me too!! I find the closest location to our hotel and swing on by before we check in. I wish Publix had this service. So far they outsource everything and that charges a fee.

  13. Denise

If you hv a chase credit/debit card there is a 5 dollar off 50 dollar purchase for Walmart grocery pick up. Check your chase app

    • Snezh

Thanks!Do you know, if it’s $5 off $50 or Can it actually be off $40 after the hip2save coupon $10 off $50?

      • Smb

It has to show up on your credit card as a $50+ purchase to trigger the $5 back.

  14. Sara

This service didn’t save me any money or time. I had a difficult time finding enough stuff to get to the $30 minimum. I almost never buy $30 worth of groceries at one time.

I’m on the fence about trying it again. It was just a novelty to me. If I use it again, I won’t get anything that needs to be weighed. They held the max price for an item that could be 1.4 to 2.2 lbs. They gave me 1.6 lbs but still charged me for 2.2 lbs. I had that corrected before I left the parking lot. The other problem is that they held 3.5% sales tax when the food sales tax is still 3%. When I picked up the order and had that overcharge fixed, they charged 3.22% sales tax. I did a chargeback with my credit card and reported Walmart Grocery to my city’s revenue department. The general sales tax went up 0.5% to 9.95% on 4/1/19. The food and prescription drugs tax exemption went up 0.5% as well, so the food tax didn’t change. The whole pickup process took about 30 minutes because of these problems. I could have picked all of the items myself and been out of there before that.

On a side note, I called Walmart Grocery a few months ago. They said that you can use Grocery Pickup if you are just walking up. You don’t have to be in a car. I usually have to take a bus to get somewhere. I was getting a ride from my mom when I tried the service, so I haven’t experienced a pickup without a car yet.

    • Smb

Sounds like you aren’t the target customer for this service, and that’s okay. I use the heck out of it. LOL

  15. Kay

Retail-me-not is also doing $10 off Walmart Grocery. Might b $10/50 for first time order. One of the codes is vague.

  16. Smb

Thank you guys! About to place an order for beach weekend so this is awesome! 👏🏼

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yay! You’re so welcome! Hope you have a great weekend!

  17. patricialavenz-goff

I did pick up with Walmart once and I had to wait 20 minutes for them to bring it out. My brother went in and came out before they even brought my order. LOL I won’t be trying it again. You can’t use coupons at walmart anyway in Central Arkansas. I used to give them about 6 coupons and I was lucky if they let me use 2 besides you can only use one like coupon per item. So if the coupon says you can use up to 4 in one transaction they still only let you use one. I stopped shopping at our local walmart for that reason. I got tired of seperating my orders when I wanted to buy three tide etc.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! SO sorry to hear about that. I don’t usually wait long at all when I pick up my order. Hoping it goes more smoothly for you if you decide to try again!

      • Smb

Yeah I usually barely have my car in park before they’re walking up 😂

        • sarah

I am going to try it again but the only time I did it took 30-45 minutes to pick up. I ordered for our out of town camping vacation and was there at exact pick up time, did everything to notify I was there. We waited and waited for them to bring out and then when they finally got there, literally each bag had 1-2 items in it. TOOK FOREVER to load and I was super annoyed at how many plastic bags they wasted. And several things they had to sub so each item she had to explain what the sub was. I could have shopped and been out with about 1/4 of the bags in less time. I am going to try again. Because I love the idea of it.

  18. Ann Stokman

    Wow!

  19. Beverly

Does anyone know how/if your refrigerated/frozen items are kept cold once they’re packed for your order? Now that it’s getting warmer I’m hesitant to pick up cold items when I don’t know how long they’ve been out of the cooler.

    • Sara

There are coolers in the grocery pickup holding room. I don’t know how long the employee takes to get from the freezer and refrigerated sections to the holding room. They appear to pick several orders at the same time.

      • Beverly

Good to know they have coolers back there–thank you.

    • Susan

I can’t say what the process is but I buy frozen foods every week and nothing has ever been melted or spoiled. This is a wonderful service and let me tell you I really hate Walmart lol.

      • Beverly

Thanks for answering–that’s really helpful. Hopefully my Walmart is as good as yours. (I’m not a huge Walmart fan, either!)

  20. belinda

totally un related…But WHERE IS THAT JACKET FROM??! love it!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks, Belinda! It is an REI brand, long rain jacket!

  21. Sarah

Thank you!! I love Walmart grocery pickup! They have the nicest employees doing this and it makes the entire process super duper easy! I have never received a call from them saying it’s ready, just an email btw.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re so welcome, Sarah! I usually opt to get an update via text, as to when my order is finished and ready for pick up! I find it is a small box you can check when heading through checkout. Hope that helps!

I don’t use grocery pickup, but I sent the code to a friend who does. Might as well spread the code around.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

How sweet! Glad you could pass it along!

  23. zamylin15

Thank you for sharing – love walmart grocery pickup – so easy and I love it reduces my impulse buys of going into the store!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

YES! I feel the same way! You’re welcome!

  24. Ren

anytime you can save 20% on groceries like produce and dairy that’s great! Does anyone know if you can use an ibotta gift card or if items qualify for ibotta after this code? thank you in advance

    • Lisa

Are you able to use ibotta with walmart’s grocery pick up? If so, Can you please tell me how.

  25. Chris E Browne
