When, exactly, will Amazon drone delivery be available for Prime members?

It’s still up in the air. But, with the help of Amazon’s world-class fulfillment and delivery network, they expect to scale Prime Air both quickly and efficiently, delivering packages via drone to customers within months. Wow!

If this raises the cost of Prine, I am probably dropping the subscription. Occassionally, it would be nice for 30 minute delivery. However, most of the time I can wait a day (or two) for my stuff. We have been considering letting prime lapse anyway so they may just be about to push us over the edge.

      I agree.

      • J.H.509

        I agree as well

  2. Holli

I will just to see it come. Lol

  3. Court

Awesome!! Probably not in all cities tho

  4. Nancy

I would order at least once just for the drone service experience . We have a fulfillment center five miles away.

This sounds ridiculous to me. Does this mean I am going to have to listen to the sound of drones flying over my house constantly? No thanks.

    • valerie

Drones are pretty quite so you wont be hearing them for sure.

  6. Shirley

No thanks. I don’t want to see a drone in my neighborhood.

    • Sassy99

Agreed !!! That could cause dogs to bark constantly, and just no thanks

      • KM

Dogs already bark constantly with all the delivery trucks!

Will people “accidently” shoot these down?

I remember saying once that I would never stream music because I prefer CDs. Now, I stream music even when I’m in the car. My point is drone delivery will probably become the norm just like so many other things that have changed over the years. It’ll be interesting to see how and if it all works out as amazon has planned.

I’d definitely try it if it delivered near me. I love how they’re thinking outside the box!

Oh man. This COULD be good, however, shared scooters WERE also thought to be a great idea…however city streets are now “littered” with these things and accidents galore happen. They drive me crazy and I imagine drones to roll out in a similar fashion. In theory they are definitely cool, but reality….hmmm. I definitely can wait a day if it means I don’t have drones flying all over my neighborhood.

Would the current weather change delivery time I wonder

  13. Stacey

I normally opt for the later day delivery just because, however I could have used something sooner this week and they couldn’t get it here in one day. It said sorry we normally can, ect. This is just ridiculous to me to say in 30 minutes with a drone.

  14. Crystal

Can you imagine how many people will loose their jobs because of drones now delivering packages?

    • 🌺 Nolee 🌺

Someone will have to “pilot” them.

      • Lunafalls

It will probably be more like programming them, but yes they will need some human support for sure.

Me: When I ordered this item it said guaranteed delivery June 6. Why does it now say that I won’t have it until Monday?
Amazon: Your item is on track to be delivered Monday as promised.
    Me: No, you promised today.
Amazon: Well it wasn’t available at the closest facility so it’s on track to be delivered Monday as promised.
Me: YOU AREN’T UNDERSTANDING ME. YOU PROMISED IT TODAY.
Amazon: Can you wait until Monday?

This was my exact conversation with an Amazon representative earlier today…so…excuse me if I’m skeptical about ANYTHING they promise. And they didn’t offer me anything to make it better, either.

    • jenn

Haha yes, I’ve had a few of these conversations!

I live in Florida and I can see our rain/storms during the summer being a problem for these drones and our packages. I can.see accidents from drivers looking at these drones being a problem. I personally can do without them. I’m a prime member and I get 2 to 3 boxes delivered DAILY but never needed anything delivered in 30 minutes. Just don’t see the need. Can’t justify paying more than we are right now for the membership due to these drones. I’ve considered canceling my membership and ordering from Target and Walmart instead. If Amazon raises their prices again, I’m done with them.

    Jesus is coming soon.

  18. Luna

Interesting! Can’t wait to get the experience

At this point, I would happily have drones over all of these lazy delivery drivers. If ups, usps, or fedex are assigned to my packages, I get them. If it is an independent delivery driver for Amazon, I have about a 25% chance of receiving my package at all. I have watched them on the map near my neighborhood and “you are next.” Then they leave the area. Then I get a message that they could not access my locked gate or the package was damaged. I have no gate. After 30+ phone calls to Amazon logistics and numerous chats, I am THIS CLOSE to cancelling my account all together.
