Follow these steps to get your free $5 Starbucks Gift Card:
- Open/download the Starbucks app, log into your account and click on the Inbox tab
- Click on the “Father’s Day is June 16” message
- Click on the Buy Now button
- You will be directed to the Gift Card page where you can select the style of gift card and the gift amount (be sure to choose at least $25)
- Fill in the To field (you can send the gift card to anyone including yourself!)
- Head to checkout and pay for the gift card with a credit card
- Check your Inbox for an email titled “Thank you for participating! Here’s your $5 eGift” from starbucks@cashstar.com – our email came immediately!

Taylor, you’ll need to purchase just one card with at least $25 to get the deal. You can’t get the deal purchasing multiples.
Buy the one gift card then go in store to split them into smaller physical cards

Offer didn’t work for me. I wonder if they was hit their quota of the max number of app users to redeem the deal. No biggie- we will still use the $25 gift card.
I just paid for mine and got the free $5 right away. Maybe you should call/ email their customer service. They’re usually very good in resolving these issues. Unless this offer varies by account or invite only.

odd question…if i buy this gift card in an app, can I load it onto my husband’s gold card? he uses a “work phone” so he doesn’t use starbucks app…
You should be able to do that coz it only asks for the recipient’s email. Then he can redeem it and put it on his account.
ok. last question…if i do the “app” on the computer, will that also work? https://app.starbucks.com/
Just email it to him and when he opens email it has directions on redeeming and ask if you want to load to card. Then once it loads to card he can transfer that card amount to his main card. I have like 5 different cards tied to my account as gifts along with my gold card, so I transfer everything over to that one.

Won’t work for me. On the app it says “system error” On the desktop it says, “something went wrong, try again.” 🙁 I’ll keep trying. Seems like too many people trying simultaneously are crashing the system.
