We got the Listerine tabs in a beauty box. Oh my gosh, what a gross experience! I don’t know exactly what I was expecting, but not that. First, you get the flavor and chalky texture like from the chewable antacids, you know the ones that you grow to loathe by the time you hit 9 months pregnant. Next, your mouth begins to foam uncontrollably while you try to keep from gagging or spitting out the chalky textured foam and “swish” it. Finally you have to swallow this foam while every instinct is urging you to spit, dear God, spit!!!!! I get that these are designed to be used when you may not have access to a sink, and I know other people may think differently, but I would much rather use one of those Scope toothbrush things, or just some breath spray or drops or gum.
I was in a paid study for this product about a year before it was released on the market. It sounds like you didn’t follow directions. Once you put it in your mouth you are supposed to start chewing it. It’s not a mint. Yeah it’s a little chalky the first 15 seconds (at most), but where you got foamy I have no idea. I never had that experience and even had to submit daily videos while using the product. 🤷♀️ Like you my first reaction was to spit because that’s how we were taught to use mouthwash. As far as the taste, I grew up with only one option for Listerine and trust me, this is like candy in comparison. It is intense, but I’ve yet to find a Listerine product that wasn’t.
I personally like this product. I think this is a perfect product to use if you play any kind of wind instrument, especially if you play after eating. Every little bit of bacteria you can keep out of it, the better.
Sorry it’s not a product for everyone and that you had a bad experience. I personally think it’s a great product when it’s used properly.
To each their own 🙂 I’m glad it works for you. I think the concept is awesome, I just wasn’t too thrilled with it myself. I did chew. My 13 year old and I did it together, so we did follow the instructions. It just wasn’t right for us.
There is a Men in Black Movie ticket offer for this https://www2.activaterewards.com/listerine/
Did they pull all the printables?
Well darn. They sure did. Thanks for letting us know. I will update the post now.
