Great reason to make your own food. You’re completely responsible for the quality control!

    • Sara

The ingredients you are using to make your own food can be recalled as well. To have complete control you would have to grow your own plants and raise and butcher your own animals.

This is true, I think there was a flour recall just this past week. I guess we have to make our own flour too in order to be safe

I had to recall my homemade smoothie this afternoon after the spatula used to push down the frozen fruit between blending came out missing one half. Wish I could at least get a refund on all the fruit!

There is also a recall on some Ragu sauces because they might contain plastic.

I found chunks of plastic in my cranberry chicken salad. So beware when you buy it! Aldi was great in giving me a refund though when I brought it back and showed them the plastic pieces

Thanks Hip2Save for keeping your readers aware of recalls. I would not have known about this!

This is the first time I’ve heard of ROCKS being in food. So scary on many levels!

This happened years ago to my betty crocker brownie mix. I took a big bite out of my brownie and bit onto a rock. I called the company and she told me to mail the rock in to have it looked at. While I was on the phone my then 3 year old grabbed the rock off the counter and took it outside. 🤦‍♀️ anyhow, the company sent me a bunch of coupons and I always wondered how the heck it got into my boxed brownies.

I appreciate these recall posts! Seems to be happening more often. Kinda scary.

So glad you like them, Gisette! Thanks for the feedback!

I found a sizable rock in my frozen burrito recently, and it wasn’t even this brand. Apparently rocks in burritos are a bigger problem than I thought. And I couldn’t figure out how a rock could possibly get in there. Crazy!

How do you a hold of El Monterey Foods. There is no web site to email them about a complaint. I’ve tried everything and can’t seem to find a way to reach their complaint dept.
