Apple stores are once again hosting their very popular Apple Kids Camps throughout this summer for kids ages 8-12!

These free camps are available at Apple Retail Stores throughout the country and last an hour and a half each day for three separate days.

Space is limited and camps fill up quickly so hurry on over here to sign your kids up now – simply select your state and store and you will then be able to select your preferred week to attend.

In year’s past, each child has been limited to no more than one Apple Camp workshop and a parent has been required to stay with the child during the Apple Camp. We recommend contacting your local store if you have questions about whether a parent needs to remain in-store during the length of the camp.

Designing Your Dream Park with iPad

Kids learn design skills to imagine a park for their community. They’ll go on a short walk to gather inspiration and take photos of materials, colors, and textures. Then they’ll sketch their ideas in the Procreate app using iPad with Apple Pencil to bring their design to life. On the final day, they’ll present their park to the group. Note that devices will be provided.

Creating Your Own Song with GarageBand

Kids explore how to build their own song. They’ll learn rhythm basics, practice making beats, and experiment with Smart Instruments to create a melody in GarageBand for iPad. On the final day, campers will celebrate their new skills by sharing their song with the group. Note that devices will be provided.

Coding Fundamentals and Programming Robots

Kids explore fun activities to learn how to code Sphero robots. They’ll start with coding fundamentals like commands, loops, and functions, then use blocks of code to create a program using the Sphero Edu app for iPad. On the final day, Campers will program lights, sounds, and animations to tell their own story starring Sphero. Note that devices will be provided.

Directing Your Own Movie w/ Clips and iMovie

Kids discover how to create fun video footage using iPad. They’ll start with fundamentals of moviemaking like experimenting with camera shots in the Clips app and drawing ideas on storyboards in Keynote. On the final day, they’ll apply their skills to make a captivating movie trailer using iMovie, and they’ll celebrate their creations. Note that devices will be provided.

I signed my son and daughter up for 2 different camps so we went every single day for a week. I thought the staff was AMAZING with the kids and the program was really good quality. The fact that I had to stay (with a younger child in tow) did not bother me. The head instructor made every effort to include me in my children’s learning, asking for my feedback, providing me with a set of headphones to listen to my daughter’s music.

My 8 yr old did this last yr & loved it. I signed him up again this year. Thanks for the heads up!

My kids are 20 and 23 and way back they did most of the camps that they offered those years. I remember garage band as their favorite. My kids were so happy doing those camps and there was no pressure to buy. We are now a very faithful Apple family because we love the products.

I hope they offer it for more than just one week! They usually have four different offerings over a two week period….

My kids are so sad they aren’t doing the Sphero coding camp again – neither of them have any interest in garage band or planning a park 🙁

    • Sandy

I think they’re still doing the Sphero one! It’s called “Coding Fundamentals and Programming Robots.” The description lists “learn how to close Sphero robots.” HTH! 😃

The H2S post lists two Apple summer camps, but there are four camps offered. See below for descriptions of all four camps. HTH!

Thanks, Sandy! I just added those!

  4. Melissa m

My girls have gone with Girl Scouts to the Apple store and the classes are great. They’re excited to do a more in-depth class with these camps. Thanks for posting.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      You are so welcome, Melissam!

  5. Eira

Thank you for posting this info. Just signed my daughter up. I was so behind planning her summer so this helps so much.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      You are so welcome, Eira!

  6. Mollie

Could someone please tell me what and what states? are available

    • mary

There are too many for someone to do that for you. But it’s easy to find; follow the link and put in your local information and you will see available dates and times

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Hi, Molly! If you go here, you can enter your area to see what is available.

  7. Melissa

Thanks, I signed up my kids to do the design a park.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      That sounds fun, Melissa!

  8. Ryan

This might be a rhetorical question, but the kids don’t need to bring their own iPads to these events – do they?

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

It says that all devices will be provided.

  9. Jen

Thank you for sharing! I just signed up my daughter for the movie trailer session. I was also reading the Microsoft summer camp post…they also sound fun but too bad we don’t have a Microsoft store in our local area.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I’m so glad you can take advantage of this deal for your daughter, Jen!

  10. Brianne

Awesome! I just signed my boys up! They’re excited and I’m really glad they had dates for the very end of July because I’m having surgery at the beginning of July I won’t be able to drive for the first few weeks so it all worked out.

  11. Nee

Thanks so much! We do these every year you post!

  12. Jenny

    Waitlisted at ours 😞

  13. Meerasmom

It says spaces are available. I keep entering my Apple ID and verification code and it keeps taking me back to the same page to do it all over again. No actual registration page in sight. Is anyone else having this same problem? I tried Chrome and Internet Explorer, very frustrating.

  14. Brittany Collier

Does anyone know if they are strict on age. My son is almost 8. Would it be ok or too hard?

    • Alisa

My son was 7 almost 8 last year and we didn’t have a problem at all.

      • Britt

        Awesome. Appreciate the response

  15. Danyal

Thank you so much for sharing. My son will be doing the robot coding .

  16. Rn

Thanks….signed my son up for the garage band camp here in Atlanta

  17. sue

Do we need to stay at the store for the whole time? Thanks

    • Susan

      I usually do! 😊

      • Susan

They do have something for parents too 😁

    • Chris

Part of the terms and conditions it has you checking states you will remain on the premises.

  18. SusanC

Thanks! We tried to sign up last year and it was full. Happy to grab a spot this year!!

  19. Lan

Darn, my sons will have just turned 7. I will watch out for next year. Thanks for posting

  20. MeeshaG

That was fast! Ours is already full and on waiting list for all camps

  21. Krys

My boys did the Sphero class two years ago when 8 and 12. Really loved it and I got to learn about parental controls while they had their class (they aren’t too thrilled about what I learned 🤣). Highly recommend. We’d go back again if it weren’t for us living over an hour away now.
