Love the powerful suction of a Shark, but I’ve never had a Dyson.
My Dyson is almost 10 years old. It’s heavy so I bought a Shark. My Shark died after 2 years and never cleaned as well – my Shark had to be directly over something to suck it up but my Dyson has the power to get things that are right next to it which is great for getting along baseboards/edges. Good Housekeeping put out it’s list of the best vacuums and Miele and Dyson had the top 2. I don’t remember a Shark on their list but double check that.

I own both, the shark I was just given at Christmas as a gift. Hope they won’t see this because I LOVE my dyson so much more! Shark isn’t bad at all just doesn’t compare to my dyson!

I’ve never owned a shark, but I have had my Dyson for 8 years and going strong. It gets used hard with pets and kids in the house. I honestly never expected it to last this long, but am so impressed. I have carpet, tile, hardwoods and area rugs, and my model is so easy to switch between carpet and bare floor settings. I also love that it has a long cord. I was getting a new vacuum every year or two before this one. Highly recommend a dyson!

Team Dyson! I have had mine for 14 years and is still going strong. I love it. I have dog, cat and two kids. I’m always amazed at what I pick up with the dyson. Only issue I’ve ever had was I replaced my stair tool after roughly 9 years because the little fabric piece that helps pull hair and dirt came off.

I had a Dyson that died about two years ago. It was my FAVOURITE! It went from carpet to tile very well, we have a lot of kids and pets! It cleaned so great. Black Friday I got a Shark, and while it’s ok, I have way more issues with it than I ever did with the Dyson. Mine lasted about 12 years. HTH!
Long time Dyson lover here, awesome suction…worked wonders even on beat down carpets…HOWEVER, if you are planning on new carpets check what the manufacturer recommends for a vacuum….seems silly, but we recently installed new carpets, all of a sudden my Dyson is awful to operate (super hard to push)…after reaching out to customer service, it had been determined no Dyson product is compatible with my carpet 😭
