Daughter had one with basil and it grew very fast. However for me the cost of the seed pods and the plant food would be prohibitive. But if you are not on a budget it would be fun and it definitely produces.

I have one I got it last year when I found this sale on Hip2Save. I love it because then I can have fresh herbs in my kitchen all winter long. The seed sprout very quickly and the plants grow fast also.
