    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re very welcome, Chelsea! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us! We sure appreciate it!

    • Alma

Same here, my 6 year old lost interest 3 months into it. Not worth the annual subscription. I’ll try leap frog academy. Thanks for the suggestion Chelsea.

  2. Tammie

Does the app read the books out loud?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Tammie! It looks like ReadingIQ does offer that – “The collection also includes many Read to Me books to support readers in developing listening comprehension.”

      Hope that helps!

      • Tammie

Amber, thanks for letting me know. I have a teen that has CP and is intellectually disabled, that is unable to read. She loves to learn and having books read to her. If anyone knows of any other programs that will read aloud, I’d love to know.

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

          You’re very welcome, Tammie!

My son likes EPIC! And yes it has the read option. You can sign up for a free trial and see if it works for you.

      • Erin

We love Epic (ages 7-4)! Tried ABC mouse several times and my kids never liked it (even when they were younger). Epic runs specials every few months. At Halloween last year it was 2 months free. At the beginning of summer they offered 3 months for 3 dollars. I cancel when before o get charged and wait for email with next special. Super easy to cancel (can cancel online!)

  3. Shelbie

My daughter uses endless reader academy and LOVES IT! And I pay $5.99 a month!

    • Lisa

Does this app have read to me books?

  4. Melissa

We did abc mouse and my 3 year old enjoys it. We downloaded all the apps though. There’s maybe 8-10? We’ve enjoyed it. I’m looking into adventure academy for the bigger kids. I’m also interested in feedback for the reading Iq. Does anyone use that already?

  5. Nichole

My son also had very little interest in ABC mouse. I bought a year subscription. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Even as an adult I get why, it’s kinda boring and very repetitive.
But he LOVES Khan Academy Kids (FREE app with no ads). Very user friendly and entertaining. It does a better job with covering a wide variety of topics and providing a just right challenge. He continuously chooses over non-educational apps.

  6. Ali

ABC mouse was a no go for my son too. But he absolutely loves Epic. He reads on it daily. It’s worth every penny. We have had it for almost 2 years now. They have an awesome half off deal during Black Friday. Try reading Catbug. It’s hilarious!!!!.

  7. Phyllis

Hi I went onto the read IQ site and they don’t say anything about 2999 for a year. The only thing he mentioned is the one-month trial, with 799 there after. When I click on the link in your email it doesn’t bring me any way to sign up for that special offer. How can I sign up for the 2999 a year for that reading site?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hmm, I still find the $29.99 listed as I click through that link above. Maybe try again in a different browser OR switch to desktop view if using a mobile device. Hoping that helps!

Sometime in the last couple months, but don’t remember exactly when, there was a free app mentioned that was an educational/game mentioned and now I can’t find the info for it. It may have been just a website and not an app. It was for older children as well. If anyone can help me get the info for it, I would be forever grateful!!
    My email is williamnmarysallee@gmail.com

  9. c

Yes, my four year old lost interest as well.
