Just and fyi. Scholastic isn’t that great. Its like rose art. So id say spend the few extra dollars or cents and get crayola. Way better. Thought i would share my thoughts incase you were looking to buy that brand and wasnt sure.

    • Brittany

I think the scholastic colored pencils are good, but the crayons not so much.

    • Caitlin

The Scholastic glue sticks are my favorite. I don’t have experience with the colored pencils or crayons.

    • Miz

Thanks – I was wondering about that…I will def buy the crayola! 🙂

  2. Elizabeth M

I always spend a little more to get the plastic folders as well. The paper ones don’t hold up. I can reuse the plastic ones if I use a label maker label.

  3. Bianca

Thanks! Just ordered folders for my classroom with free store pickup 😉. Hip2Save to the rescue again! Love you guys and all the work you do.

    • Chelsey (Hip Sidekick)

So glad you could grab the deal Bianca! Thank you for the sweet comment!

    • Patricia K Sennett

Bianca” for my classroom” = teacher? Make sure you get info for the Teacher APPRECIATION Day.

I am gong to try my Goodwill today and see what back to school folders they have! They usually sell a TON in a bundle. I got like 10 plastic ones for cheap. I can’t recall how much I paid, but it was a great price.

  5. Rae

Is this in store or just online?

    • Chelsey (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Rae! I’m not seeing these items in my local ad, however you can shop online and choose in-store pickup. Or, if you’re heading in-store, OD/OM will price match their online prices!

This is my first year having to buy school supplies. Just wondering if things like expo dry erase markers, multi colored printer paper & ziplock bags go on sale for cheap or should I just go ahead & buy? My daughter starts school at the end of the month.

    • NotMyFirstRodeo

Hi Sara. Ziploc bags or identical ones can go for $1 at Walgreens, Kroger, and Tom Thumb. Multi-colored paper can go for $3 a pack at Staples and Office Depot. Dry erase markers can go $1 at Walgreens for the multi-color set. The black chisel used to be on sale at Staples and Office Depot for $1 but that didn’t happen last year. I hope they bring back the penny deals. Hope this helps.

      • Sara N.

Thank you. My daughters school has requested all name brand products. I will keep checking all the stores each week.

  7. TiredofBeingRippedOff

Don’t folders usually go lower than this-like 10 or 15 cents apiece?

    • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

Hi, TiredofBeingRippedOff! They sure can and we’ll be sure to post if we see prices drop that low. In the meantime, be sure to bookmark or print this list as you may find it helpful when you start your back to school shopping.

      • TiredofBeingRippedOff

        Thanks!

  8. Heidi

Check out Staples they today. Great prices, and they’ll price match 110%! Just got all my shopping done there and checked all other sales and they were indeed the cheapest!

  9. Dana

School supplies!? No! No! It’s still the first half of summer break for me!

  10. Melissa O.

Thanks guys got all of my kiddos supplies yesterday. I saved $74.00. They had so much more on sale not listed in the ad. I was so happy.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yay! Happy to hear you could grab such great savings! You’re SO welcome!

  11. E

Thank you! I went to our office Max and got some good deals but I found the draw & write primary composition books! They are seasonal and I missed them last year! Perfect for my K and 2nd graders! I need to go back to pick up some more supplies for our homeschool but we are getting organized!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

You are welcome! So glad you were able to get the composition books this year, E!
