Contrary to cheerful theme song promises, Friends will NOT be there for you much longer if you’re a Netflix subscriber.

As soon as spring 2020, the popular show will only be available to stream on HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s new streaming service. Warner Media plans to remove Friends and the other “crown jewels of Warner” from Netflix to avoid competition before HBO Max launches in the spring.

How do you live your best life after Netflix nixes Friends? How about scoring the best current price on a Friends box set (all 236 episodes)!

Noooooo! Now I’m going to have to get off the couch, pull out my DVD, put it in the DVD player, and scour the house for the right remote.

Geez, what will Netflix have if everything is going to its specific owner/station etc?! Just Netflix originals? It’s disappointing and ridiculous to have so many subscriptions. I guess I will have to start buying Blu-ray’s again!

    • Matt

They will have their multiple awful original series. I dropped them long ago.

      • Traci

Mine too. Going to get it .

    • Garfield

Or check them out for free from the library.

  11. Garfield

One thing that I don’t get is why these networks think people will subscribe to everyone of them? I think there are way too many streaming services already!

  12. Angela

Noooooo! We have friends on almost every day!

  13. Meredith Brooks

If anybody uses Amazon FireTV or Firestick for shows or movies i just purchased “Friends”: Season: 3 for $4.99 from Amazon. 25 episodes for $5… yes please!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Awesome! Thanks for the suggestion!

  14. Brenda

Anyone heard of the Plex Player? You can burn all your dvds to it and then watch from the app. Plus they have some networks you can watch for free. And connect with other friends that have it and share your media.

  15. Marie

    Up to $95 on Amazon

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! Be sure to select the DVD version to grab the lower price! I still find it available from Amazon as listed above. Hope that helps!

  16. Michelle

Shop your local thrift stores first. I’ve seen a lot of them lately.

  17. Holly

Is Friends popular among gen z and those who haven’t seen it yet? Don’t understand why all these shows from early 2000s like Office are crazy popular right now.

  18. Bryant

Back when the show was popular MUST-SEE television, I watched Friends religiously and drank the Kool-Aid. Then the show went off the air and I found myself watching the reruns a few years later scratching my head. I couldn’t believe how unfunny the show actually is without all the hype that was given to it during its network run. Only like 5 episodes stand the test of time and remain funny today. The rest is absolutely cringe-worthy but if others enjoy it, more power to you.
