This is great! Does anyone have any recommendations for me for shampoo and conditioner? I have blonde hair (colored of course), and it tends to be dry, and pls. no sulfates. Thank you for your suggestions!

Redken extreme ( blue bottle I think ) works reallyyyyy well to keep your hair soft and moisturized! It’s great for people who use heat on their hair a lot, or people who don’t. I’ve been using it for years! My hair is thick, dry and very curly and I do color the crown of my head and I find that this conditioner is the best for any hair type.

Redken Frizz Free! I’ve been using for over a year and I have thick curly blonde highlighted hair and this works great to smooth out and reduce frizz whether I wear it curly or blow it out straight. And doesn’t weigh it down or make it oily.

      • Loyallatin

Also, I use the shampoo and conditioner and the leave in cream. The leave in is optional depending on your hair needs.

      • Loyallatin

        Sorry it’s Redken “Frizz Dismiss”

I like using matix biolage hydration therapy (the bottle with purple on it). It’s safe for colored hair and it keeps the locks feeling refreshed and soft.

I LOVE Biologe for my colored hair. My daughter in law uses Redkin (gold bottle).

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback, Amy r! Good to know what you both have liked best!

I had 3 things saved in my cart that I was going to do free store pickup from the Target that I pass on my way to work. But seeing that Ulta has the free shipping I was going to do that instead and save myself a stop. The total would be $7 more for the exact same items I wanted at Ulta 😳. I’ll just go to Target.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh darn! Thanks for sharing, Tina!

    Hi,

Can anyone recommend products for dry, curly hair?

    Thank you!

    • K

Redken extreme! Don’t shampoo your hair tho only condition. The redken extreme condition has been a life saver for me for years since I live in a humid place and have very curly hair. I use thir conditioner and use their leave in conditioner as well a few times a week and they both work great.

    • Marie

My daughter has dry, curly hair. She swears by Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky. She doesn’t have dandruff but a hair stylist recommended it and it’s the one she has consistently used for years.

Any recommendations for oily hair. Embarrassing I know, but ya girl is really struggling!

    • Jess

Trust…I understand!!! Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo is awesome! My mom loves Biolage, she’s been using it for probably 15 years. I love anything Paul Mitchell and Kenra!

    • Joanna

Paul Mitchell Tea Tree is great. I’ve used it 4-5 years now. For the first couple weeks after I switched to it (after using Dove shampoo/conditioner for a long time), I wasn’t sure my hair would ever be right again, and I nearly quit using it, but I stuck it out, and since then I’ve tried other professional-grade brands and always ended up back with Tea Tree. It’s pricey, so Ulta’s Jumbo Bottles sale is a great time to stock up if you find you like it, or just to try it if you’re not sure!

Anyway, oily hair was your question. That was my issue too. With the Dove I had to shampoo every day to avoid an oily hair look, but Tea Tree is great for removing oils and not weighing one’s hair down, and with it, I only have to shampoo every 2-3 days to avoid the oily look, so that was an added bonus!

PS – In case this is relevant to you or others, I’ve always used the regular “Tea Tree Special” products on my highlighted hair (partials) and never noticed any particularly-aggressive color loss. I noticed just this week that Ulta is now carrying a “Tea Tree Special for Color-Treated Hair” line. I considered trying it to see whether I noticed any difference between it and the “regular” product I’ve been using, but after reading reviews on the Ulta page, I’m going to stick with what I’ve used all along – you know, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it! LOL (A few people commented that the product for color-treated hair left a greasy result they didn’t love, and one stated she’d tried both products & didn’t see a difference). Anyway, I just figured I’d add that additional info here in case it helped!

Has anyone with thin, fine, wavy hair tried the Devacurl delite line? Looking for something to add volume and enhance waves.

  7. Mary

I would appreciate recommendations for fine, colored hair. I have to wash it every other day because it gets greasy fast so I also need the product to not be oily or weigh my hair down. Thank you!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Mary! My hair is not colored, but it is fine and thin. I have been using the Biolage Full Density and I LOVE it! Hope that helps!

      • Mary

Thanks Amber!! I will try it. I’ve tried so many but I’ve not tried that one. Thanks for all you do.

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re very welcome! Hope you love it too, if you decide to give it a try!

  8. Liz

What’s a good shampoo and conditioner to use on straight. colored hair? I’ve been using Kenra but was thinking about trying something else.

  9. Sam

    Any recommendations for hair falling.

    • Monica

I use Nixon for my thinning hair.

Is the $10 off $40 coupon code expired?

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! It does look like it ended early, Nikki!

      • Nikita

Thanks Jennifer, that’s what happens when you procrastinate.

        • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Just watch for the next one, Nikita. They come around every 3 months or so.
