   We have 4 cats and I absolutely LOVE my litter genie! I read reviews that suggest using zip ties instead of tying knots when it’s time to change the bag. Such a time and product saver! For this price anyone who has been thinking about it, go buy it!

  I knot mine, but I would only caution people to not use dollar store zip ties as they do not always hold tight. I do love the litter genie and wish I had ordered the bigger version for one of my more frequented boxes.

   I have one very finicky cat that needs it scooped every time she goes so this is perfect! We love our Genie and refills. I double tie a knot in ours to start but never heard the zip ties and may try that! So convenient and easier than having a pile of bags to discard on trash day. It keeps the cat smell enclosed as well… Definitely worth the buy to try!

   Does anyone know if the refills have more plastic than the one that comes with the genie? We have 3 cats and we went through the first batch in no time at all. I’m wondering if there’s more bag space in the refills.

  I’m not sure. The first time I opened the packs, I wasted about 90% of the cartridge getting it started. Wine may or may have not been a factor but I was really frustrated.

   To everyone talking about the bags… I’ve had one of these for years and I love it. Definitely worth it to me. What’s NOT worth it is paying for the refills! I buy small office trash bags in bulk on Amazon and use those instead. No tying, no zip ties.. And SO MUCH cheaper. The only thing is part of the plastic bag hangs outside the lid. It doesn’t bother me at all, but just to let you know.

   I also love my Litter Genie! I never smell the cat waste~I don’t know how they do it but it totally blocks the funky smell! I buy my refills on Amazon and use sub & save so it’s a little cheaper and comes just when I need it! 🙂

   If any of you are military families, refills are cheaper at the commissary (at least compared to my local stores regular prices)! I’ve been to two bases since using this and one refill is $4.80
