Yes! SO fun! Thanks for the feedback, KetaCar!

Why would you use this, instead of having kids come to your door? I also see safety issues with an open car trunk, with candy & kids.

    • Tia in FL

They do this mainly at schools and churches. My daughter’s elementary school does this so she comes home with plenty of candy and we skip the door-to-door thing.

Some neighborhoods arrange this instead of door to door. Everyone parks near the clubhouse or community playground so all the cars are right next to each other with tons of kids and parents milling around. Some people also have music or set up simple carnival type games so it creates almost a fair like atmosphere.
(I still prefer door to door, you can make a round thru a small trunk or treat in less than 30min then Halloween is over.)

Rural areas where door to door isn’t feasible or safe tend to do this as well.
Our church does this as a safe option for our community so parents have an alternative option to door to door.

    • Cristine

Our church does this, the neighborhoods aren’t super safe and so many residents stopped opening the door for trick or treaters. If we didn’t do this my kids would never get halloween candy.

    • Jennifer

Where I am, we do both? Not sure why some people are so against it. It’s also easier for smaller kids.

    • Carolyn

We have trunk or treat.. at our Church.. 20 or more cars park in a circle and the kids go car to car getting candy. Very safe and the kids love it!

  3. Becca

Our church and schools do this to prevent the door to door 🥰 Also it’s a great way for our ASD kiddo to enjoy the fun without eloping or getting overwhelmed.

  4. delia

my daughters cheerleading and football league does a trunk or treat for all the kids at the park. we can park our cars and decorate them different themes and put music for them. We give candy to the kids and We sell food and drinks to raise money for the league. It is planned by the city for anyone interested can park and give candy.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

How neat! Thanks for taking the time to comment, Delia! We have really loved Trunk Or Treat each year. All of the local schools in our area have it for the kids and it has been a big hit!
