Through August 18th, Kmart is offering a free $5 off $5+ school gear purchase coupon valid in-store only for Shop Your Way Rewards Members (free to join) when you text SCHOOL to 56278 (limit one).
Note that this offer is valid through August 18th. This coupon is limited to one time use of either the digital or in-store printed version and it cannot be used with other discounts.

Great question! You could always double check in store before shopping. I do see that it does exclude Every Day Great Price, hot Buys, Special Purchases, Clearance, Closeouts and Gift Cards. Hoping that helps!
I got an error saying “We’re sorry, this coupon is not yet active. Please use it after the start date or look in Deal Center for other possible coupons.”

My store called customer service and they said I had to email a screenshot of the bar code I received to info@sywr.com and ask how to use it. Then I will get a response and at that point can use the deal. They had a customer earlier in the day that tried to use it and failed so that’s why they made the call when I stopped in. I haven’t received an email response yet.
My coupon states “offer valid from 8/11/19 to 8/18/19”, so maybe that’s why coupon is not working right now.
Yes, mine too. I tried to use it today and they would not honor it. Cashier told me to come back tomorrow. Another failed coupon attempt at Kmart. I don’t know how my store stays open.
