On the fence? Check out these Target reviews…

I bought these for bulk herbs that come in 1lb bags. I had used smaller, non-amber jars in the past, but found myself having to go through the messy task of refilling them frequently. These are the perfect size for them. Also, I don’t have to worry about leaving them on an open shelf since the glass blocks nearly all of the light. Unlike the mason jars I’ve seen in craft stores, color is in the glass so they are dishwasher safe. Good quality like you would expect in a food safe version of Ball’s jars.

I needed these to store spices and flax seed. They are perfect for that purpose, as they are amber in color and prevent a lot of light from spoiling the contents.

Just what I needed! I was looking for something seal-proof to store loose tea. These jars were the perfect size and the color filters out light.

I love these jars! I collect them and I had never seen the amber before. I just use them for juice, smoothies and water they work great!

Are many people really worried about UV light damaging their food? The thought never crossed my mind ever lol I would think the thought of storing food in a jar for 18+ months in a cupboard would be more of a risk lol

    • BrBa

Actually, it’s not about “damaging” food at all. If you’ve ever cooked w/ fresh herbs & spices or brewed loose leaf tea, then you know that light exposure causes such items to go stale quickly…hence the dark-colored jars. Nobody that stores things for a year and a half in a jar is expecting them to be fresh lol
