On the fence? These reviews may change your mind…

I considered buying the DockAtot when I was pregnant but decided against it because of the price. My son is two months old now and wouldn’t stay asleep longer than two hours, sometimes he would wake up every 45 minutes and was willing to try anything to get some extra sleep so I ordered the DockAtot. It’s only been two nights but the first night he slept for three hour stretches and the second he slept for five!

Before, when I would lay him down in his bassinet he would thrash around, grunting for 10-15 minutes but with the DockAtot he settles down right away, falls and stays asleep! It was definitely worth the money and I wish I had bought it sooner!

So, my husband and I went back and forth on whether we wanted the DockAtot . We decided not to get it and see how it goes…. my son is 6 weeks right now. He REFUSED to sleep in anything other than his rock and play no matter how many times we would try his bassinet. He hated being on his back and would toss, turn, cry and mom and dad would get no sleep.

We decided to give the dock a tot a try…. so we took the plunge. It’s been 3 nights in the DockAtot and he has slept 3hrs at a time (he’s breastfeeding), so he will wake up at the 3hr mark, eat, then right back down in his dock a tot with no fuss.

So far we are fans!! 🙂 DockAtot for the win!!

I have a brand new one in the beautiful Diamond Diva pattern in my daughter’s closet. By the time I found a good price on it and the time it took Zulily to ship it, my baby was already 4.5 months. She refused to sleep in it and only slept in her Rock and Play.

I’m sorry your experience was not ideal with the DockATot, Katie! Thanks so much for giving us honest feedback!

I got one at my baby shower and didn’t know that it was so expensive! I was tempted to return it and get other necessities with the money. My husband convinced me to keep it and it’s probably the best gift we got. It helped her sleep for the first two months of her life! I definitely recommend it especially at this price!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

So glad you loved this! This sounds like it was a lifesaver with your baby, Mg05!

Unfortunately these things aren’t worth the money. My son did like it, but our pediatrician said they shouldn’t be used for over night sleeping and my son outgrew this by 2.5 months old, so I was super bummed that I spent a pretty penny on something that we couldn’t use very long. Not worth it for “naps” for 2 months!

Thanks so much for telling us about your experience with the DockATot, AA! We sure appreciate the feedback!

Just FYI, these are a SIDS hazard and not recommended by the FDA, WHO, AAP.

Am I the only mom that looked at it and thought “I’ll just buy a dog bed, it’s the same thing at a fraction of the cost”…? didnt do it but I would be more inclined to buy a dog bed then spend the money on this, plus it’s probably about as safe for sleeping. That being said I dont judge any one for their choice to buy such expensive sleep aids. Some days I feel like I would pay someone $200 for just one whole day of easy naps and a good nights sleep.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

LOL – we all want a good night sleep with kiddos, krystal! I totally get that!

    • Amber

I said the same exact thing. Glorified dog bed.

For those soon to be parents, or caregivers of little ones that need help with their baby sleeping, I highly recommend Taking Cara Babies. You can check her out on Instagram or her website https://takingcarababies.com. This is not an advertisement, she just has truly helped me with naps and nighttime sleep. I highly recommend her blog and she has classes too. Plus she’s got helpful content on Instagram.

Whoever took that picture shows a baby right next to a body of water about to fall in basically…dear lord who advertises like that lol

    • Jessica Mcguire

I’m totally not usually an alarmist but that was my exact thought when I saw this! What a horrible photo for an advertisement!!

    • Heather C

I thought the same thing! Poor choice of photo for advertising!

    • Kcmiami

Wow I thought this was a joke at first… the unattended baby in what looks like a suffocation hazard bed next to water. It’s like the newspaper pictures where they ask you can you find all the things wrong with the picture lol.

    • CJ

I decided to read the comments just to see if I was the only one who had that as my first thought. Lol.

      • MommySpendsLess

That’s why I visited the comments too. A stylist definitely consider form over function for that image. I guess the tropical print goes well with te water theme LOL.
My daughter’s 10yo so maybe my info is outdated but I was surprised to this product existed and was being advertised (in general, not necessarily by Hip2Save) as a product safe for babies to sleep in. With all the fuss not to put anything in their cribs, to avoid crib bumpers due to a suffocation hazard, etc. – how is this product safer?

    • Mommyof71987

That was my first thought too. I am glad I am not the only one who thought that was odd.

    • Kait

THANK YOU. I came to the comments hoping I wasn’t the only one. The pic makes me so uncomfortable 😂

    • Catie

      THANK YOU !
THIS IS MADDENING BECAUSE SOME NAIVE PARENT WOULD TRY TO COPY THIS PHOTO AND IT COULD BE FATAL!! And the fact they are NOT for Safe sleep!
HARD PASS FOR ME, EVEN IF IT WAS FREE!

  8. SummerSun

We loved ours! I used it to cosleep. Was so convenient to have baby in bed to breastfeed multiple times a night.

  9. Ana

We got a baby nest from the lovebirds sewing co. It’s more expensive but made better. You can throw the whole bed in the washer and dryer. It’s much more sturdy and you can start with an infant size and then get one for a much older children.

  10. Steph

    Same thoughts here, stupid advertising!

  11. Nels

    It increases risk of SIDS.
