I’ve flown Frontier before and can’t complain. Fly cheap and get somewhere fast. I just wish they bought back their CLE –> PHL route 🙁

I agree, DNM! In 2016, I was able to fly from, PHL (Philadelphia) to SAT (San Antonio) for $29 + fees per person. They no longer seem to offer that route often, but I was able to fly into IAH (George Bush Intercontinental in Houston) for $39 + fees per person a few weeks ago.

These low fares only include one personal item measuring 18x14x8in (We used regular school backpacks.) and carry-on can be purchased online for $40/ea. Frontier seats are not much more than fabric covered folding chairs that do not recline, so keep that in mind if you have back issues.

Also, always check to see what other cities fly to your desired destination (I did this by putting in the desired final destination as my origin and checked out the deals offered.). You may find a great place to enjoy an extended lay over or even a cheaper route to your destination! (ex – Philadelphia flies to Denver, but not to Brownsville, TX. BUT… Denver flies to Brownsville, TX! The difference between Houston and Brownsville saves me an 8hr car ride or a more expensive flight from United or Southwest to Harlingen. The flight from Denver, CO to Brownsville, TX was cheaper than Houston, TX to Brownsville, TX!)

Frontier has been a real blessing to my family of 6 when planning to visit Grandmom on South Padre Island.

Frontier may have cheap fares but they charge you for every little thing. So in the end it is more. You need to get the package deal they have for carry on, checked, etc before board the plane. It is not worth it. The carry on bag is not free, the complimentary drinks and snacks (pretzels, 100 cal crackers or cookies, etc) , that soda or juice you usually get on other airlines they charge you for that too on Frontier.

Funny, its so ideal to fly frontier for me. I visit my mom monthly across the country. I take no bags (i leave a few outfits for summer winter and inbetween) and i have my few absolutely needed toiletries in my handbag. Cuz at the moment those are still free LOL. But yes it can be sorta expensive & deceiving for big families if zero research is done. I feel like these types of airline flights were made for me 😉

My husband and I just flew Frontier this week. Even after extra fees and paying for checked baggage, the flight was much cheaper than other airlines. However, we both agreed the savings were not worth it. I can see how this deal would be ideal for a quick flight with no luggage, but not for a longer flight. The seats are terribly uncomfortable (think covered bus seat) and do not recline, no refreshments are provided (I had my own, but just wasn’t aware of that), and it took almost an hour for luggage to show up on the carousel (while several other passengers from different airlines had come and gone). I do like that you pick your seat beforehand (unlike Southwest).

The first 3 rows do recline. I also was very comfortable in the first row on our flights Dal to Den and Den to Sea round trip. If you have the option I would book those seats. It was only about $10 extra per seat too and the first row had a lot of extra room (and was not an emergency exit row). And the middle seat is wider which is noticeable after spending one leg of the flight in the window or aisle seat. Our luggage on the return flight took over an hour almost everyone else had left and ours were last after 15 min of nothing coming up. There was no one to contact because it was very late at night so that was frustrating. They do have cups of water (from a liter Dasani bottle) for free which is something that I wasn’t aware of because everyone kept saying they charge for everything, so I wasted money on buying water in the airport unnecessarily so wanted to mention it. You can ask for it even if they are not coming around yet. I saw several people push the call button or walk up to the front.

seats that don’t recline sounds like a dream plane to me…i cannot stand people who recline into my lap…i would never recline my seat or allow my children to recline their seats and make the people behind us have less space. we have too much luggage to take usually to make these flights a great deal…it’s the only reason i tolerate southwest flights, because it’s usually cheaper with the free bag check…i hate southwest no assigned seating policy as trying to save a seat to sit next to your own family is going to get your ass kicked, people are so weird about wanting to sit next to you instead of next to their own people

Thank you for posting this deal. Bought my husband and two young daughters a trip to New Orleans for a few days in October. Never would have been able to make this trip happen if I hadn’t seen this post. They are each planning on packing a small backpack of clothes and keeping things simple. This was the perfect birthday present for my husband and he is looking forward to a daddy/daughters vacation to his favorite city of all time! Appreciate everything you do to share deals!!!
