You can now pre-order this Disney streaming service!

Although Disney+ isn’t scheduled to launch until November 12 in the U.S. and Canada, you can now pre-order this Disney-owned streaming service for a cost of $6.99 per month or $69.99 for a yearly plan. This pre-sale is for Disney+ alone. The highly-anticipated $12.99-per-month bundle that includes Hulu and ESPN+ won’t be available for purchase until the November launch date.

Whether customers choose to purchase the yearly plan or pay by the month, anyone who pre-orders Disney+ will start their subscription on November 12 with a free 7-day trial. Even those who pre-order will have to wait until the official launch date to stream content, though.

Disney+ on big screen

Disney+ is expected to offer content that will make it competitive with the likes of the streaming giant, Netflix. It will be the exclusive home of Marvel, Star Wars, Disney Animation, and Pixar content. Original content, like a new “High School Musical” series, will also be produced exclusively for Disney+. The service hopes to attract between 60 and 90 million subscribers worldwide by 2025.

  2. Katrina Bubolz

Do you know if you can buy the DisneyNOW and add a bundle later?

  3. Chris

Already got our 3 years for the price of 2 (the D23 deal)! Ended up being $4 per month.

I was not happy when Netflix raised prices. Now it’s bye bye Netflix.

Where and how can we get your deal?

      • Chris

The deal was only available until September 2nd

I am staying with netflix, too many shows I like there, but I did get the Disney special. Super excited! I will cancel Hulu to make up the difference. I don’t have much over there.

I got that deal too! Can’t wait to start watching!

Anyone know if it’s still an additional fee if you already have Hulu live? I’m assuming so but I don’t want to buy a year if it’s already included! Thanks!

Do you know what the benefit is to pre ordering as opposed to waiting?

I got an offer just the other day from Disney Movie Rewards in my email. It was $169 for 3 years ($4.72/month). It’s not quite as good a deal as the one offered a few weeks ago by D23, but check your emails for this promo. The email was titled “Special Disney+ Offer for Disney Movie Rewards Members”. I missed the first deal. Now I’m wondering if this is the one I should take or if it will go back down.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Whoa! Yes, that is awesome! Thanks for letting us know and we’ll watch out for that, Karen!

I got the email as well but I think I will pass for now. Too many streaming services and the cost keeps on adding. I like to rotate services. When we are done catching up on movies/series we switch to a different streaming service or just cancel all services and check out movies/series from the library. I am lucky to have HBO (from DirecTV Now) and Netflix (T-Mobile) for free so this saves me some money. But to be honest I do want to try Apple’s new service. It seems like they have lots of good original movies/series.

Did it. So excited for the Simpsons!!!!!

  8. Hector

I will but I want to keep hulu bc all the show we watch are on there. Once ya do a plan with hulu or hulu live. I will get it.

  9. Caite

Yes! Signed up for a great deal as a D23 member.

  10. Lisa

Will you be able to download certain movies/shows to a device like Netflix?

  11. SJ

I heard that it wasn’t going to be available to stream through FireTV/Firestick, which is how we stream everything. Does anyone know if this has changed?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Good question, I did find this in the details – “Disney+ delivers your favorite entertainment to smart TVs, phones, laptops, tablets, and gaming consoles.” Hope that helps!
