I found the Classic Series in white for $99 at one Walmart near me, I know this model has a more powerful motor, but for home use (cake and cookies) I should be ok with the Classic one right? Can anyone give me their opinion?
I have both.The6 quart is good for double batches and large recipes but for small batches it can be too big. For instance I’ve had problems with it beating egg whites. I all so have a classic (it was given to me) and I use it for smaller batches of things and it works well. It would depend on what you want to use it for. I bake and cook a lot in large batches but sometimes like a batch of candy, the small one is what I use.
I cook a ton, my kids are on a special diet (GAPS) but I do not bake much, especially treats since they are so limited. This would be used mainly for birthday cakes and occasional cookies and things like that, so I am thinking for the price I should be good with the Classic, especially since until now I was making do with one of those cheap handhelds.
I have a Professional HD, but mine is a 5qt bowl I think. I’ve had it for 6 years, and wish I had gotten a Classic with a lift head instead of the bowl raise feature. It’s also very heavy if you have to move it around. I used to bake more, but with dieting, the baking sort of goes to the wayside. I use my KitchenAid hand mixer much more often.
