Popeyes Chicken Sandwich is Returning in November

Popeyes is bringing back its insanely popular chicken sandwich, but this time the restaurant chain is promising to be ready for its re-entry into the chicken sandwich market.
This new menu item became a viral sensation when it first appeared in August, and the chain was quickly overwhelmed by its crushing popularity. Popeye’s chicken sandwich sold out in a matter of weeks, frustrating overwhelmed employees and hungry customers alike.
Sun Holdings Inc., which operates about 150 Popeyes restaurants, shared in a statement with Bloomberg.com that it will begin offering the item again in early November. Popeyes is currently working to hire an additional 400 employees and may have as many as two people per location focused solely on preparing the sandwich. The company went on to say,
“Demand far exceeded what was available. The first time they weren’t ready. Our franchisees have worked to increase staffing. We have been working diligently to bring the sandwich back to our restaurants soon, as we know our guests are anxiously anticipating its return.”
Popeyes has yet to confirm the exact date of the sandwich’s return, saying, “As soon as we’re ready to announce a date, we will let the world know!” Want to be first to know when it’s back? Fans of the chicken sandwich are encouraged to download the Popeyes app (iOS or Android) and turn on push notifications.

This is insane! All over a chicken sandwich?! I feel like it’s been so hyped up that whenever I do get to try it it will just be meh.

IMO it’s better than Chick-fil-A. I would def chose this over Chick-fil-A any day! It’s good but not sure if I’d wait in extreme long lines for it.

I went the other day to get the voodoo chicken as they had ads all over the building. Tried to order it, he had no clue what I was talking about, asked what number, I said it doesn’t have one, he got aggravated and came out, all to look stupid and said oh, next week. Pass.
It amazes me that people get hyped over a chicken sandwich. I’ll pass.

It was an excellent chicken sandwich but the irony of a fast food buisness that has Chicken in the name of the chain running out of Chicken is almost as delicious as the sandwich itself!
I’m slightly embarrassed to say that I still can’t wait to try it.

I did not like it at all. It is a sauce that makes it a spicy chicken. It is not the breading on the chicken. This has been my least favorite spicy chicken sandwich
I managed to get one of these and it was delicious! It was extremely fresh and crispy. The bun was fluffy. Had a side of dirty rice with it and that was great as well. I’ll definitely get it again when it’s available. Thanks for letting us know!

With all the demand for chicken in this country, it’s no surprise the chickens are loaded up with antibiotics and growth hormones to make them grow faster. Can’t even imagine how they’re keeping up. Apparently, Costco has bought their own mega chicken farm to keep up with demand for their $5 rotisseries.

the Costco Rotisserie is so worth it ! this sandwich is probably the same price ad a whole chicken. I have always loved the dirty rice at Popeyes

I’m not a chicken sandwich connoisseur, but I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich. I did not choose the spicy sauce, as it is not my preference.
Chickens are not given growth hormones on the U.S. Some flocks are given antibiotics, but some are not. Chik-fil-a serves antobiotic-free chicken, as do some other restaurants.
Yes, you’re misinformed, a lot are given growth hormones in the US. How do you think they keep up with the demand of every mom and pop restaurant and chain fast food place and supermarket etc..on every corner of every city in every state in this country?

It may be better over Chick-fil-A, but nothing beats the A+ cleanliness and service that Chick-fil-A has.
I ate at Popeyes once and only once. It was like all I got was deep fat fried breading. It was gross it was saturated with grease. Most of it ended in the garbage.
On Popeyes app if said November 3 would be the return of the chicken sandwhich but now the app says, “We’ll be right back! We’re doing some work behind the scenes to improve your experience….”
