Back in May, Dressbarn announced plans to close all of its locations. Although some stores have already ceased operation, liquidation sales at all of the remaining 544 Dressbarn locations are currently underway.

While the remaining stores are expected to close no later than December 26, Dressbarn said in a press release that the company will continue to operate under a new owner with the launch of an online-only shopping experience on a new website in 2020.

“As part of our planned wind-down, which has received overwhelming support from our landlord and vendor community, we are starting store closing sales,” Steven Taylor, Dressbarn chief financial officer, said in the release. “Customers can take advantage of discounts on all merchandise, including new fall and winter apparel and accessories, from 20% to 40% off original prices.”

Existing store gift cards and merchandise credits will be honored throughout the liquidation sale, but the press release warns that gift cards, merchandise credits, and other previously issued offers from Dressbarn will not be valid on the new website once it goes live on or about January 1, 2020.

The current website will remain open and will accept gift cards and merchandise credits through December 31, or while supplies last. A list of the remaining brick and mortar stores is posted at www.dressbarn.com.

How interesting that they’ve decided to keep the online store. Love their clothes so I may still shop online but the only thing I hate to do is pay to ship something back. I always return to a store because it’s free. But I hope their quality and style remains!

Substantially less employees and more profit. This is just the beginning of stores doing this.
