This is too funny. My dentist just recommended a water pik to me. I got it from Amazon as well — different brand — but only $27 and some change. I didn’t want to spend an inordinate amount since I didn’t know if I’d like it or not. I am still in my first week of using it. Not sure how people do NOT do this in the shower. It creates an awful mess. I’ll find out in 5 months or so when I go back to the dentist to see if it is making a difference. This is a good price for starting out. Mine is not waterproof, but it does have a cover for the charger area. I just don’t submerse it. Again, though, it needs to be done in the shower and there appears to be a bit of a “learning” curve to it. My teeth are a bit sensitive, so I’d also recommend using at least warm water in the reservoir.

Thanks for the helpful comment, Lisa! You’re right! We have a similar water flosser and it can get water everywhere! It does get much easier to use once you get the hang of it.

Completely agree with you. I got one a week ago and it takes so time to get used to and to not spray down your throat or out your mouth. Lol! I too have put mine in the shower. This picture of the kid is misleading. No way you could use it like that, the water needs to come out of your mouth. I got Nicefeel brand from amazon. Mine is definitely not kid friendly. Works great when pointed in the right direction!

I am so glad that I’m not the only one. I mean, you close your mouth… so other than going down your throat (that’s a lot of water to keep a hold of in your mouth), where does it go?! It is just easier to do in the shower. 🙂

A water flosser was a huge help when I had braces and if you have crowns that tend to get food stuck. You do have to close your lips around it to not get water everywhere.
