Be very careful using a dock that isn’t from Nintendo. I read some reviews that says that it can “brick” it. Meaning it will immediately kill your Nintendo switch rendering it useless. Some reviews says that charger bricked theirs. To me…it is definitely not worth the risk to save 15 bucks.

You can trust this one though. I was looking for a switch dock for my room and I have bought that one myself because I like and trust the insignia brand (insignia is best buy’s own brand). I can say this one is safe, I’ve been using it as a second switch dock for my room and had it for a year so far and nothing happened. It’s mostly those cheap off-brand Chinese switch docks you find on amazon or ebay that you gotta watch out for…

All of the Switch accessories have my head spinning… 😂 My son is getting a Switch for Christmas. There is only one TV he will be using it on. Would you all strongly recommend this or is it just a nice to have? What about the joycon docking station?

My son had had his 1.5 years. I see no need for another base (unless first one stops working)
The joy cons charge when connected to the switch.
Only ‘accessories’ we have bought is an extra controller, and a carry case.

Thanks for the feedback. Between buying the system itself and a few games, this is becoming quite an expensive venture and I don’t want to dump a bunch of money into it right away.
