I got one of these for my elderly grandparent – and I can say, it doesn’t have the touch buttons printed on the screen at the bottom like the 8, and 9 inch versions do. That aside, though, it’s a wonderful tablet. I just wish it still had the same casing as the slightly smaller model. The change makes it harder for my Grandma to use the tablet, and she often has trouble with the touch screen reading her finger presses – I don’t know if it’s from callouses or her wrinkled hands – not even being mean here, but being serious. She’ll press 3, 5, 8 times at times to get it to register her fingertip whereas my 30 year old hands it registered immediately. She uses a stylus a lot with it. You can use the bubble type stylus with this, but not the pen type – it isn’t an S pen model.

Also, Steam will no cooperate with the tablet no matter what I try. We’re still using Steam on the computer. Now again, all that aside, the thing will hold tons of apps, educational games, plays video, etc. seamlessly. If you need higher/better game play, consider boosting up to the 64 gig since the 32 gig only has 2g of ram and the 64 has 3. The 64 gig is on sale for $279, with $50 gift card back, making it still $80 more, but for more ram and double the capacity.

It’s great for video chat, too. My Grammy has a huge screen and she can see family, talk on messenger, etc with this and the large font is truly large.

Worth noting you have to “add both to cart” if you want the gift card to be added and taken off at checkout. Also, you have to go back and add on protection plans manually if you want the protection plan too. Also, you can’t use gift card credit to check out since the gift card comes with it is a promo. You’ll need to use a debit/credit card or your Amazon card. You can still get 5% cashback with your Amazon cards, though.

These are susceptible to virus attacks, too so consider some ad blockers, or some type of protection software. I did notice it was harder to set up second user profile than on the smaller 8 inch, too. Anyway, enough rambling from me. Hope this helps someone!

PS These use USB C chargers and the one they come with is all of 8 inches long, so you might want to add on a longer one of those, too! I found one on sale/clearance but keep an eye out for USB C.

PPS: You do not need a Samsung account when setting up, or even a Google account. Although, having a Gmail makes it easier. You can choose to skip adding a Samsung account so you don’t automatically get the Samsung play store. And you can choose to skip adding Gmail as well, but you’ll need Gmail for the Google Play store. Also, the play store asks for a debit card, but again, you can skip this.
