I had the Ring Video 2 and LOVED it in my last house (my current home has it’s own system). It was battery-operated, so I kept an extra one on hand when it got low. The batteries are rechargeable. Looking at the pro, I see that it’s hard-wired into your existing doorbell so it has power all the time and you don’t need to worry about batteries.

Anyone thinking of Ring ought to watch the story that was just on ABC News about several families having hackers take over the Ring cameras inside their homes, using the devices to say ugly things to children when they’re in rooms alone and frightening everyone. They’re demanding bitcoin ransom to leave the families alone.
