I’m curious…..if it says Paraffin or Palm Wax…..does anyone know if they are soy!? I know that’s a stupid question but I only burn soy candles as I heard they burn cleaner and I do have a bit of COPD. Thanks much for the help! It’s such a great deal I wanna try them but want to be sure.

I was curious about and googled it. Burning paraffin wax does give off harmful fumes.

      • autumn785

“It has been claimed that paraffin wax releases toxic fumes when burnt, which has contributed to its fall out of favour. In 2009, a study by South Carolina State University found that burning paraffin wax candles give off harmful fumes (toluene and benzene) which is linked to asthma and lung cancer.”

Yes they are made from paraffin

I love candles and I took a deep dive into what’s been written about the health concerns concerning paraffin wax (a petroleum byproduct). One study from S. Carolina State linking paraffin to dangerous chemicals is most often cited. The study, however, has never been published or peer-reviewed. Also, it’s not sure if all the study’s candles were paraffin. After closer review, consensus appears to have the research closer to bunk than truth. However, consensus does appear to give credence to the claim that paraffin candles, when they burn, give off chemicals that MIGHT potentially be harmful. But this is for ALL candles, paraffin, soy, beeswax, etc. While the soot from candles dramatically increases the amount of potentially harmful particulates in the air, you also potentially face similar or higher amounts of particulates every day (think parking garages, bbq, traffic). Advice, outside of not using candles at all, appears to be avoid or limit use in small rooms, ventilate the area where candles are burned and limit the time of burning. Now about parabens….

I am ordering now for store pickup. I put the code in for 25% off, but no where is it coming up for an additional 10% off for picking up in store. Is it select stores only???? Or is it a New York thing that they won’t give to me????

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Tracy! For this deal you will grab the BOGO offer and score 25% off with code JOLLY. In store pick up can vary by location. Hope this helps!
