Do you think Disney is kicking themselves that they didn’t think to get this stuff out before Christmas?
Toys often give too much away when they come out before/concurrent with movies. I think they made the right move. Maybe they would have sold more for Christmas (although the new movie toys are bringing it in for them now), but they’ll still sell a lot when this stuff comes out in May.
They defintely dropped the ball! I am bummed out they didn’t have these out now.
They deff did not drop the ball… no one knew about the baby until the show premiered. As a star wars fan who gets crazy deep into the message boards, NOTHING ever showed up about this surprise. That is crazy in this day and age!! If they had toys ready, every toy designer, box maker, marketing, and purchasing person would have known. It never would have been kept secret… without that twist and the pure excitement that came with it, who knows if it would have been the number 1 original streaming service show ever?
They are going to sell massive amounts of these toys. They will all be pre-orders so the know exactly how many they need before production. They will know how much they need to ramp up production to meet demand, they will know which toys are selling faster and should have more time dedicated. This will allow them to probably do more than they would have in a general release, and probably make even more money than if they just made a set amount and then had to deal with people upset they were not going to get their orders by christmas.
Plus… it isnt like disney is hurting for money… it is nice that they took a 4th quarter hit on toy sales to allow for a purely magical surprise for fans..
Totally agree. It also makes them extremely hard to get also. No knock offs on the market because everyone is behind the 8 ball. So then you can charge 24.00 for a 1.50 stuffed animal and people with buy them by the truckloads …..lol

This is a different one. The other one had a plastic face and plush robe. This one also has a soft face, Rn!
The producers asked Disney to hold off on producing and marketing mandalorian toys in order to prevent spoiling the child/ “baby Yoda” plot, for which I am happy they did so. 😊
Would love it to be one Disney Parks baby stuffed animal with a blanket, those are adorable anyway.
