Does the instant pot brown a chicken like the picture? If so, I may have to go ahead and buy one.

NO!!!!… instapot is kinda like a pressure cooker… heats the entire pot except above

There is a newer instant pot with the air fryer feature that will do this. The regular instant pots will just cook them, but they are so yummy!

You can throw the chicken under the broiler for a few minutes after it’s cooked to brown it. The reason to get an Instant Pot is that it does so MANY things beautifully. The moist, tender chicken is just one of a thousand things I cook in it. Here’s a link to a chicken recipe. Then, you can look around their website for so many other uses.

Yes, you can with instant pot duo crisp or with the new instant pot air fryer lid.

Maybe the new one with the air fryer

If anyone finds these in store, please post. Brickseek indicates that my closest store has 6+ of all these in store at regular price (most all other local stores are listed as out of stock at the clearance price). I went in to check them out, and my Walmart doesn’t have *any* of these accessories. I’m not sure if it’s an inventory problem with these items or that store. I was considering a trip to another store that supposedly has them in stock but I’d like to see if anyone actually lays hands on them first since the pictures in the post are stock posts otherwise they’d have hands in them.

I found in clearance sections. Also had metal springform pans and a silicone steamer basket. They are packaged only semi wrapped with a cardboard sleeve in individual display trays with the item itself filed in the tray with the instant pot logo on the front… hope that makes sense! Also try looking on walmart app and search for item then change to search “at my store” to see in-store price and to see if available. I never have much luck using brickseek.

Thanks for the update, Shea! I’m glad to know I’m not searching for a unicorn! I checked the app *and* Brickseek before I decided to go out–both indicated they were available and in stock. After checking clearance and the home section, I enlisted two Walmart employees (a miracle in itself!), one of whom eventually determined that the store didn’t have them in stock. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I bought the Duo Crisp about a month ago- my first instant pot AND my first air fryer- and I love it. I am certain that I could get crisping similar to the picture with it by pressure cooking first, and then switching to the air fryer lid. Everything I’ve made in it so far has come out at least better than average. I know that doesn’t sound like a ringing endorsement, but there’s definitely a steep learning curve with this appliance! Bm kst things have been great. I had intended to store it in a cabinet when not in use, but I use it almost every day, so it actually has been living right out on the counter .

They had it at my Walmart for $1!

  6. Jess

Found plenty of both the egg rack and egg bite holder for $7/piece on an end cap (and unmarked as discounted) with the actual Instant Pots. Not in clearance section at my store in Central VA

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for letting us know, Jess!

    • Erin

Hey, Jess. Whereabouts in central VA?
