Any dental hygienists on here have an opinion about this – I know this is for adults but was thinking about getting for my kids who are 5, 7 and 9. Is that too young? My thought is these would work better than those cheaper spin brushes for kids.
Your 5 yr old may not like it, mine didn’t but now he’s 8 and he loves it. Your’s may be different, mine was a little intimidated by its power, but YES way better than a spin brush, I used those for years and these clean so much better. Your 7 & 9 yr will probably love them and who know your 5 yr old may too! 🙂 For the price you can’t beat it. HTH
Thanks Barb!

Yay! You’re SO very welcome!
I would not recommend buying this toothbrush. The brush head is attached via that rounded section. The rounded section is hollow and fills with mold. Please to read the reviews on Amazon and look at the pictures.
I ended up calling this company when I opened mine up to change the brush and found mold EVERYWHERE! They replaced it immediately. I looked up reviews to see if I was the only one having that problem, and I most certainly was not. I did like the new one as it has no parts for water in which water can collect and grow mold.
Oh bummer! Very sorry to hear this, Kim. Thanks a ton for sharing your experience with us!
I agree about the mold. We’ve had 6 brand new ones … and every one of them grows mold under the top cap. Since then, I have read reviews online about the exact same mold issue. Some people recommend putting a few drops of Listerine mouthwash in the top cap. I tried that, but it didn’t work. The only thing I’ve found that stops the mold from growing is … thoroughly dry the toothbrush’s exterior, and take the cap off EVERY time and let the inside of the cap naturally dry up. That’s extremely inconvenient.
I’m a dental hygienist, and I whole-heartedly recommend Sonicare. When patients buy and use it, my job is so much easier and their mouths are healthier.
Oh awesome! Thanks so much for the recommendation, Melani!
If you aren’t a Kohl’s cardholder, this is available on walmart.com for the same price ($19.99) and they have replacement heads also 😉 and added bonus of ebates (rakuten) cash back %
Thanks so much, marine_grl!
