Trader Joe's protein patties

There’s a new plant-based burger at Trader Joe’s!

Trader Joe’s has released its own brand of plant-based vegan protein patties, and we recently spotted this new item for the first time at our local TJ’s. With 18 grams of protein thanks to its pea protein blend, this patty is said to offer a satisfyingly “meaty” texture that will stand up well to the toppings of your choice!

These lightly-seasoned patties also contain beets, which give the interior of the burgers a meaty pink hue, even after they’ve been fully cooked!

Whether you’re living the vegan lifestyle, planning for Lent, or just trying to eat less meat in 2020, TJ’s new Protein Patties are an exciting new option. They’re priced at $4.49 for two 4-ounce patties, and ready to grill!

Anyone try these yet? How do they compare to Beyond?

I read a review on Buzzfeed: If you’re even curious about plant-based meat alternatives, these Trader Joe’s protein patties are well worth a try. The raw-looking appearance might be a turn-off for some people, but if you can get past that, they’re a tasty and satisfying meat alternative.

I’d e willing to give it a try. I recently tried Trader Joe’s jackfruit cakes. I really liked the jackfruit cakes, they had a good texture. The jackfruit cakes are their version of vegan crab cakes. I’m not vegan or even vegetarian, but I don’t eat a lot of meat and like veggies alternatives sometimes.

2020 is the year to go Vegan!!! Hollywood is already on the way… we might as well all hop on board. It’s kinder, healthier and might just help us save the planet. I don’t plan to sit around watching it happen. I’m going to be a part of that change. Just like I would have been against slavery years ago, I am going against animal agriculture today.

Everyone has their own opinions and that’s great… But please dig a little deeper and get to know the people that devote their lives to raising animals for food production. It’s not exactly the way Hollywood would have you believe. I agree that there are facets of modern agriculture that need to change. However, it breaks my heart that many people in our country are so far removed from raising livestock for food that they demonize all agriculture and refuse to see any good in it. Please reach out to a local farmer, visit a farm or read up on it. I would welcome you any time 🙂

I’m glad to see that there’s no soy!

There is a super interesting documentary called ”The Game Changers” it’s on Netflix right now. It talks to a lot of athletes that are plant based. I’d say the target audience is male judging from the language and some other stuff 😉 It definitely made me want to at least add some meatless Monday’s to our life.

I love methyl cellulose in my food! Yum! ))))

    • Angela V.

I’ll be passing on these for that reason. My stomach doesn’t do well with foods containing methyl cellulose (it’s not digestible in humans) or carageenen which is another additive I’ve found in quite a few dairy foods at TJs.

Yuck! Haha!! Give me local farm raised BEEF! 😉
