Amazon has all kinds of great deals!
Hop on over to Amazon where you can snag this Panasonic eneloop 16-Pack AA Rechargeable Batteries for only $29.87 shipped (regularly $34)!
This seems like a great price when you compare them to the BestBuy.com price of $39.99 for a smaller 12-Pack!
These rechargeable batteries can be recharged up to 2100 times and can maintain up to 70% of their charge after 10 years. Plus, they’re pre-charged at the factory using solar power and ready to use and can be recharged when fully, or partially discharged.

Who doesn’t like eneloops? I had some from 2009 in my Bug Out Bag which still held a charge. Well worth the little bit of extra money compared to cheaper alkaline batteries. They also won’t leak their toxic guts like alkaline batteries sometimes do. They seem to work better in the cold (not compared to L91/92) than alkaline batteries and preform better in higher draw electronics such as today’s flashlights.
I used the Amazon branded batteries for a long time, but after a couple years of use those could only charge to fractions of what it was new. While that’s okay for my household goods, I don’t want to worry about it while I’m on the location for photoshoots. While I’ve been told the Amazon brand is made in the same factory as the Eneloop batteries, it doesn’t seem to hold up to the same standard. For the price, the Amazon ones are good enough for my TV remote and Xbox controllers, but the Eneloops are the ones that go into the camera bag!
As a photographer, I need a battery that I can count for reliability and power. These batteries are all of that. They can handle multiple flash discharges at a fast rate and consistent power output until the batteries are spent. Charging time is a little low, but to sustain the power demands of rapid discharge, a slow charging process is necessary. If you have a job or hobby that requires high power demands, this is the battery to use.
