Harbor Freight is joining the fight against coronavirus!

Hospitals are going to need more personal protective equipment than ever in the fight against COVID-19, and many health care workers on the front lines are already facing a serious shortage.

To help keep our nation’s medical workers safe, Harbor Freight Tools has announced that it will be donating its entire supply of N95 masks, face shields, and Nitrile gloves to hospitals with 24-hour emergency rooms in the communities served by its stores.

If you work at a hospital with a 24-hour emergency room in need of these items, Harbor Freights asks that you have your hospital’s office in charge of procurement email hospitalhelp@harborfreight.com to request a donation. They ask that you please follow this procedure and refrain from contacting hospitals directly or making requests in-store

Hospitals that are eligible for a donation will be emailed a voucher when the supplies are available for pick up at their local Harbor Freight Tools store.

Thank you so much hip2save!! I work in an intensive care unit in KY and to see this disease process first hand is terrifying. Please do not take this lightly. Stay safe, and tell the ones who matter most how you feel as tomorrow is never guaranteed.

    H2S crew,

W2g to Harbor Freight (and all other companies) for stepping up and assisting with those on the front line!

This is awesome! I have a daughter who is a nurse and her husband is a volunteer firefighter / first responder. Many people are making masks and helping hospitals, which is great! I would like to encourage people to also support your local fire departments. Many first responders need personnel protective equipment also.

    • Allison

      My church is making masks.

That is a great thing to do. Thank you Harbor Freight

    On the subject of masks:

ANYONE WITH A SEWING MACHINE (or a grandma who has one) :
There is an incredible NEED for homemade medical masks- these will be critical in the coming weeks!
Sewingforlives.com/ is an organization looking for those willing to sew homemade medical masks. They are nationally connecting seamstresses to local need.
They have a pattern on their website!
Please share this with your family and friends who are not on social media too-grandmas, sisters, aunts. The need is great- ONE hospital already requested 50,000 masks and that’s just one hospital!
And reach out to your local clinics/hospitals/care facilities to have them sign up too! There’s a form that the medical facility will fill out to identify need and location, and the organization will connect the volunteers.
Contact your local Joann Fabric as many locations are precutting these patterns.
This organization is also on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sewingforlives/)
Thank you! If this saves one life, it’ll be worth it.

Why about home health nurses and doctors office. They are desperate and are 1 st line to see patients. Can they apply for donations because they can’t get what they need either

  12. Tricia

Wish this would apply to ambulance companies as well. If they had supplies my husband wouldn’t be quarantined right now. People seem to forget that the ambulance is how the patient get to the hospital.

  13. TwoLittleMonkeys

This is incredible! A lot of our money has gone to Harbor Freight. 😂 So happy to see them do something like this!!!

Thank you so much for posting this. We are not even to the crazy high number of patients yet, but realistically we are all waiting for our storm to come. Due to the number of patients who have not gotten test results back yet we are restricted on mask usage until confirmation is positive. Even with these restrictions we are already showing very real shortages for mask availability. To those very kind and generous people sewing them, please Google adding a hepa type filter for the necessary protection. Cloth gets damp (esp when you don a disposable gown, eye shields, gloves etc) and does not provide the necessary protection. I have looked up ways to add this if I need to make my own. Vacuum cleaner bags, shop vac filters that are HEPA rated can be cut and inserted into a pocket sewn into the mask. Virus particles are so small that without this protection the otherwise beautiful and thoughtful masks are limited for protection. Thank you so very much for caring! My daughter is an ICU nurse and I work in labor and delivery. Bless everyone and stay well.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re most welcome. BIG thanks to you and your daughter for the work that you do. 💕 AND thanks a bunch for this helpful information! Good to know!

  16. Miss P

Love this! Our police departments are all in need of mask too

  17. Sarah

Sent this to my sister in-law who works in the cancer unit at a hospital in Illinois. They have no masks left to work with the cancer patients. She and her patients have no protection from germs other than gloves and are so scared of catching the virus but masks and protective gear is in such low supply that they can only supply them for surgeries and possible Covid19 patients. So scary! Hopefully this will work!

  18. Cindy Czeszewski

Northwestern Hospital in Chicago is in desperate need for N95 masks! How can we get them? Thank you. God bless all of you for helping.

  19. Laura Leyrer

I always double and triple check info I pass along and, no disrespect intended, I haven’t heard of your site. Did Harbor Freight put out a press release about this?
