We love that Starbucks is supporting the heroes who work to keep us safe.

Starbucks just announced that it will be offering free coffee to front line responders now through May 3rd.

Effective immediately, any customer who identifies as a front-line responder to the COVID-19 outbreak will receive a tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) at no charge. Awesome!

The company also announced that The Starbucks Foundation will donate $500,000 to support front-line responders in the US with half of these funds going to Direct Relief in support of the delivery of personal protective equipment and essential medical items.

The other half of this donation will go toward Operation Gratitude to deliver 50,000 care packages and handwritten letters to first responders and health care workers.

If you’re a front-line responder to the COVID-19 outbreak, we thank you too. 💗

Does that include nurses?? Probably just EMT and paramedics. There is too many of us for them to serve😂. That would be awesome if it does include nurses because I’m right in the thrones of testing and caring for Coronavirus patients.

    • shop4mybabies

it even includes grocery store workers at least at the starbucks in the grocery store my daughter works out and i read an account from a nurse on a starbucks page where they gave her a free coffee as well as a “care package” that had a few treats in it

    • Jen

  5. KraftyKim

That’s nice! All my local Starbucks are closed though.m, otherwise I would have informed my family first responders! x

Kinda out of topic, but I got an email from Panera saying they are extending the free coffee/tea subscription for 60 (more?) days. I’m supposed to cancel it on April 8th, but now my cc won’t be charged until June 8th 😊. Not that i go there regularly. I only used it once since I got the subscription, but that’s a really nice gesture from Panera. I love their scones@

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      Whoa! Thanks, riss!

    • Leah

      Me too!

  8. Christy

Is this just plain brewed or would a latte qualify?

    • Dkp91576

      Plain brewed

  9. Celenorma

This could definitely help us for a boost 👍 I love my job and wouldn’t change it for the world.

This should include veterinary doctors and technicians. We are putting our lives on the line interacting with the public to take care of their pets.

    • pulliam2

I agree! I was so thankful my vet didn’t close! I appreciate you!!!

    • Lisa

My biggest fears were the vets would close & pet stores (I feed raw dog food). Thank you so much for being open!

  11. Tricia

I hope it included emts. Wouldn’t be very nice to just be paramedics.

  12. Gisette

All of our Starbucks are closed here till the middle of April. Been trying out local coffee/tea shops.

What about payroll departments? Sounds crazy, but we are also being forced to work to pay all these workers. I work for a school district and although teachers are working from home, we are not. With the overtime, time out, and chaos it is not a great situation, although I think sometime people forget about us little people behind the scenes!
