This book is a fun combination of food science with gourmet cooking created by Food Network star Alton Brown. Alton Brown is a great cook, a very funny guy, and—underneath it all—a science geek who’s as interested in the chemistry of cooking as he is in eating.

I loved this book and love Alton Brown. This book reads as if you were watching the tv show. It really isn’t organized like a cookbook with Appetizers at the front and desserts at the back. I wish there was an index listing them all by Appetizer, Side, Main, Chicken, Dessert, etc. I really enjoyed just sitting down and reading it though!
I purchased this as a gift for my husband, along with the others in the series. He is a HUGE Alton Brown fan and loves having all the recipes from the “Good Eats” episodes. They have some humor and all the sciencey stuff that he teaches on the show. Great purchase for someone who loves to cook!
Beautiful book and, as you’d expect from Alton Brown, incredibly informative and very funny. I also just loved all the behind the scenes info and additional historical information on the ingredients and methods used. A must for both Good Eats fans and any who enjoy being in the kitchen.
