These non-medical face masks are made from 100% cotton so they are soft, breathable, and comfortable to wear. They have two layers of fabric, a slip opening to insert a disposable filter (sold separately), and elastic ear straps that can be easily adjusted. The outer layers all feature stylish Vera Bradley patterns.

Note that while these masks help reduce exposure to dust, allergens, germs, and bodily fluids, they will not eliminate the risk of contracting disease or infection.

I purchased 2 Vera Bradley masks. They are pretty and well shaped but they are large and the fabric is thin. My face is pretty average size and I sew so After I washed and dried them and rechecked the fit I made the darts on the sides deeper and Added a nose wire for a better fit. I will definitely add a third layer in the filter pocket.

I would highly recommend buying locally.look on the Nextdoor app or on FB. So many women are sewing all over. They will sell masks between $5-10, depending on the design and they use your money to cover the cost of their materials so they can donate masks to hospitals or essential businesses. It’s a great way to help out your local community.

    • oo

Great idea! Or look on Etsy. They can be cheaper and will be mailed to you. And they’ll support local artists.

    • LisaK

I do them for free. There are several in my community doing the same. We don’t accept donations unless it is goods (material, elastic). Look on your town FB page and post there, call your town or senior center because we are working with both to get the public what they need. Also check with local sewers (tailors) as they are trying to stay in business and are making some for sale. We all operate differently but personally I like to give people choices of fabrics and what style they want (if they need a filter pocket and nose piece, etc). We must wear them so why not make them what people want and like. Do ask around locally and possibly try to support the local businesses that are hurting. I’m self employed/unemployed but am grateful to have a husband with a job and happy to give back to the community. There are plenty of people doing the same. Stay safe!

I tried to order these earlier and popular patterns were sold out and the site actually went down for a couple hours. After checking periodically for about 5 hours I did finally order 2 masks (my teen goes back to work at a grocery store in June). Good luck to any one trying to get these and have patience.
