Civilization VI is the latest release of the turn-based strategy game series. Gamers are offered new ways to interact with their world and can expand their empire across the map. The series dates back to 1991 and this version was released in 2016, but new content is still being added to the game, with a new season pass added just this year.
Grand theft auto 5 is also available for free on PC. Obviously not a game for the kids but I thought I would mention it for the adult gamers out there.

Is it appropriate for a nine-year-old
I’d say yes? There’s a little bit of mild violence, as you’ll need troops to defend your territories, but it’s really nothing bad. The game does have a little bit of a learning curve to it- there are technologies to research, different governments to learn about, etc, but it doesn’t take long to get the hang of it. It’s a fun way to experience a little history, and the graphics and music are great!

i downloaded this super exited since i used to play age of empires as a teen and now it says is OS unsupported so i can’t play it since i have a macbook 🙁 thank you for posting either way
