A little off subject but I’m hoping I can get help with this. I’ve been using Frontline for my dog for almost 10 yrs. but recently during our dogs yearly check up they found a few fleas and our vet said to stop using it and switch to Seresto. The reason he gave is that frontline has become ineffective (as with any other medicine after a while). Has anyone use Seresto or any other flea and tick collar that they can recommend? Appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

    • Becky

We use Seresto for our dog and have found it to be effective when the drops stopped being as good.

There have been some reports of dogs having reactions to it but we haven’t had any issues in two years

      • Mary

        Thank you Becky!

    • desiree

I use seresto flea collars and love them lasting 8 months.

      • Mary

        Thank you desiree!

I would read reviews online. Some dogs have had bad reactions.

        Thank you oo

Love the sersetro collar. Used it almost since it’s first release on two different dogs and works wonderfully! Also much cheaper. I usually grab it for about $30-35 for a product that lasts 8 months! Our smaller dog will get some hair lose under the chin area from the rubbing so we do alternate 8 months sersetro and than frontline plus for several months. Frontline ingredients have become less effective so that is why we switched. Hope that helps. 🙂

        Thank you LisaK.

We have successfully used Seresto for almost 9 years, with 2 different dogs, in FL with a very wooded yard & fleas & ticks galore. Definitely recommend them! No side effects here.

      • mary

Hey Rebecca, I’m in FL too! Thank you for your feedback!

Anyone recommendation for outdoor cats? I am hoping to transition my neighbor’s cat from an outdoor cat to my indoor cat.
Thank you to all who can help

    • Joy

I’m in cat rescue. When we have outdoor cats we give them a dose of Capstar then Advantage Multi for cats. The Capstar kills all adult fleas on them for 24 hours and the advantage multi will kill fleas and even worms in their system. This routine helps keep fleas out of our homes and adoption centers.

      • CandyTiffany

        Thank you, everyone!

I keep CapStar and Revolution on hand. My cats are indoor only, but we have a dog that goes out. When I have brought a new cat into the house, I gave them both CapStar and Revolution. I will use Advantage if I have to, but do not care for Frontline. We use NexGuard for our dog, never had fleas. I personally don’t like Frontline for dogs or cats, but we are in the south and fleas can be really bad.

I’m asking about cats as well . So get Capstar and Advantage ? Or Advantix ??

    • Susan31652

CapStar and Advantage would be fine. Not Advantix. They are different, I know they all sound the same at some point!

Guys I have tried everything from Advantage to Frontline, Seresto collars to Comfortis to Cheristin to Revolution to bombs and flea baths and flea dips at the vet and then shaved my poor cat naked and NOTHING was working for my indoor only guy (we live in NC in the hot, humid flea ridden area with a ton of stray animals roaming)..I was about to lose my mind. Until I found something called “Advecta Plus” on Amazon. It is only $20 for 4 doses so only 5 dollars a month and after 2-3 days of the first dose a year ago I have not seen one flea, at all. I recommended to my friend who lives in Kentucky and has several pets and was fighting fleas as well, and she had the same results. Y’all, trust me this stuff WORKS! I have 4 boxes of 4 just in case they stop selling it sitting in my cabinet and I still have it shipped every 4 months prime delivery. Just thought I would pass it on <3
