We’ve been an Alexa family so far and I wanted a smart display for the living room. I decided to give Google Assistant a try with this 8″ unit. My wife was so impressed with the cookbook features she took it for the kitchen and I ordered a second one for myself in the living room. Great device.
Integrated easily with our Wink hub for home automation. The screen adds better functionality over just a speaker for things like recipes, weather, and searches. No problem having both systems in the house. Each has its own strengths. I think Google does better at answering questions. I enjoy the photo album slideshow.
I love mine! The whole family loves the photo display. We play music and YouTube videos. It’s also great for showing recipes while I cook.
It sounds like a great addition in your home, Lydia! Thanks!
I love mine for step by step recipes in the kitchen, music, news, photo slideshow, and my absolute favorite is being able to add to my grocery list when I notice something runs out. It connects to my phone and I can easily pull up my list at the grocery store.
I like video calling. I’m in the kitchen alot and I like to see people’s faces when you talk them and still have both hands free while cooking.
