Thank you for posting all these great deals!!! Just wanted to share my 2 cents oh this as I bought it last year. . . I just tossed it bc it was completely falling apart and never attracted any bees. I personally wouldn’t recommend it but I did have high hopes when I saw it!

My neighbors had the same thing happen. The first year, nothing. But the second year, bees moved in! Now the bees are really using it, and you can see them coming and going! They say it’s best to put the bee barn on an East-facing wall that gets lots of morning sun.

Oh darn! I’m sorry to hear about that. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us! We sure appreciate the feedback.

These appear to be great quality but literally after one month it started to fall apart. Luckily Costco has an amazing return policy and they full refunded my purchase amount!

DARN! SO glad you could grab a refund. Thanks a bunch for you honest comment!

These are for Carpenter Bees which are non-stinging, but if you draw them in then they will eat other wooden things like sheds and houses and trees in your yard.

Do you mean it’s a bad idea to attract them into your yard? I’m very curious – I don’t know anything about bees but have become interested in these “bee houses” now that their numbers are falling 😓

I’m curious and interested too. Same reasons. I’m trying to plant more flowers now for the bees and butterflies.

      • Dorothy

Honeybees are the ones that the numbers are falling. These will attract carpenter bees which burrow into all wood. They are considered major pests.

These are for wild Mason bees, which are non-stinging. Carpenter bees are the ones that like to burrow into wood. We had that happen once to our house. Maybe if more bee houses were available, they would not burrow into a house /shed? Anyway, it’s good to promote the wild bee population. They need all the help they can get, and we depend on bees for our food.
