So far, I’m very impressed with this product! It really works and is even more effortless than I thought. You literally just add water, nutrients and let it go! It hasn’t lost any water and I’ve only had to add nutrients once (remember to shake the bottle). I’m going on 15 days and I already have dill I can use and about 10 leaves on the basil plant! The parsley is just now starting to come up, but it takes a little longer to germinate.

Having grown herbs from seed the usual way, I’m absolutely amazed at how fast they grow in this contraption!

I bought this because it was on sale and it was the end of the gardening season here and I was curious about hydroponics. It’s worked so extremely well, that I’m contemplating buying a bigger model. I really love eating what I’ve grown and this makes that possible year-round!

Is it possible to plant other herbs in it? We don’t use a lot of dill..

You can plant any you want in it, Kath!

I have a 6-pod model (I think it’s called the Harvest or Bounty – something like that) that I’ve used for almost 2 years. I’ve grown dill (but will never again – it’s not that versatile), thyme, parsley, mint, sage, cilantro, basil (i devote 2 pods to basil, and we use as garnish and every once in a while i cut it almost all the way back and make pesto), and even loose leaf lettuce. Kale did not work – it’s apparently a cool-weather crop, and our chives never came up, but I’m going to try them again sometime. I know some people grow cherry tomatoes and pepper plants.

That’s amazing! I was going to try tomatoes in place of dill but I’m new to planting herbs and I’m worried this may be too small for tomatoes

I’ve done a TON of research on aerogarden products over the last few months and I now own two 🤣 This model -all 3 pod models had the same reviews of being noisy and breaking down with-in a year. Spend a little more on a 6 pod. Amazon has one for $99 and there was a hip deal posted on one for even less the other day.

I got one of these a year ago and loved it sooooo much that I upgraded to a bigger one and gave my Sprout to my parents. I also got Sprouts for all of my (grown) kids for Christmas last year. We all love growing cherry tomatoes and different herbs and sharing our “gardening” stories!! I feel like they will all eventually upgrade to bigger models as well, but the Sprout is a good beginner one to try to see if you like it.
But FYI…. the Aerogarden website has been struggling lately due to ‘Rona, I had an issue with an order for replacement filters and it took a long time to get it resolved because they were so far behind. They finally not only refunded my money, they sent me a replacement order at no additional charge, so I feel like they are really trying to keep their customers happy.
Also there is an Aerogarden group on Facebook with lots of great people for questions and support!!!

Thank you for all this information on Aerogarden! We are glad you loved yours so much!

This is a great idea to get kids involved and see their foods (and spices) grow. Glad for the heads up on the price, because it’s something I wouldn’t have looked into without a hip deal:)

You are welcome! I think kids would love it!
