Build-A-Bear Pay Your Age Day is canceled… sort of.
Not surprisingly, Build-A-Bear’s popular Pay Your Age Day has been canceled this year due to new safety protocols and current social distancing guidelines due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Not to worry though, because they will instead be hosting the No Line On-Line Bear Building Sale on August 12th with furry friends starting at only $4!
In order to gain access to this sale, you must sign in or create your free Bonus Club account. This will put you on the list for this exclusive Bonus Club offer. Note that logging into your account is not required to shop the sale, however, you will need to create an account in order to gain entry to the virtual waiting room.
The virtual waiting room opens at 9:30 am CST on August 12th, and the sale starts at 10 am CST and is expected to last several hours or while supplies last. You will want to join the virtual waiting room before 10 am to be assigned a random spot in line once the sale starts. When your turn is approaching, you will be given access to start shopping the sale. Anyone who joins after 10 am will be placed in the order in which they joined the waiting room.
Be sure to sign up for email notifications so that you’ll be automatically notified when it’s your turn. You can check your Bonus Club account settings to ensure you’re signed up.
When it is your turn, you will have a limited time to enter the Build-A-Bear website to shop the sale so make sure your sound is turned on and up so you don’t miss the notification!
You will be able to purchase up to two furry friends per transaction, however, you can still purchase additional regularly priced items in the same transaction. Once you have made your first furry friend choice, you will then move to the Bear Builder for the option to personalize your furry friend. After you have checked out once, you can access the waiting room again for another chance at the promotion.
You have the option to order your furry friends either stuffed or unstuffed. Stuffed furry friends arrive fully stitched and ready to play. Unstuffed furry friends can be taken to your local Build-A-Bear Workshop so you can enjoy the stuffing experience in person.
During this event, shipping will be free on purchases over $35. For purchases below $35, standard shipping rates will apply.
Note that they will not be offering Cub Condos, gift boxes, gift messages, Record Your Voice recordings, or embroidered messages during this event.
Bonus Club members can apply reward certificates at checkout however other coupons cannot be combined with this offer.

I had a had time signing up using my daughter’s year of birth (2018) last year, so I gave up. We got a Build-A-Bear Kit from K-Mart for free last year.

I wonder if they use the “ask the child” trick for getting the correct age? (It’s an old waitress trick to ask the child how old they are instead of the parent–kids are honest about their age 😉 ) My preschooler is a comedian. Ask her how old she’ll be on her next birthday, she says, “Twenty nine!” lol
This is so cool. When I order my bear I’m going to call my mom on three-way and get her to record me a message to remember her voice for the build a bear save your voice in the bear. These type waiting rooms are not bad at all it’s actually really fun I did it for crocs.com with the Luke combs shoes 2 weeks ago. The shipping will only be under seven dollars not bad

Definitely try again. I used the “email me when it’s my turn” feature and had no trouble at all. This was a great sale for me and for $4, we’ll be able to visit the mall on an off day and make our bears.
