Well I just had an interesting experience. I learned that CVS Extra Care Bucks expire on the day before the receipt. I went to CVS yesterday with an ECB that expired on 9/3. The cashier refused to accept it because it was “Expired”. I figured I’d just call the national customer service line and they would straighten it all out. However, the agent said that ECBs are already expired by the date printed on the receipt. I tried to explain that even CVS’ own coupons (and all other manufacturers) are sill valid on the date printed on them but he said ECBs were different. I’ve used them a ton of times in the past on the date on the ECBs but I guess something has changed. Maybe I’m just late to the party and everyone else here has already discovered this but just in case I wanted to give you a head’s up to use them BEFORE the date on the receipt.

Hmm, How strange. I have used my Extra Bucks on the Expiration date listed. I also did just call in to my location to double check, and they were able to confirm this with me. I wonder if the policy can vary by store?

      • CW

8/31 at my CVS they wouldn’t take my $1 ECB dated 8/30. They said it was expired by 2 days! They used to accept them within a week at my store. When I said and it’s not two days, it was yesterday they said “2 days”. I’m thinking they’ve changed their policy.

    • Linda

I would call again. I think it is wrong not to accept a coupon before the expiration date.

This has happened to me as well on 2 different occasions. One was my CarePass and the other an ECB. The CarePass I tried using on the day it said it expired (shown on app and printed on reciept of red machine) but the cashier said it was not populating on her screen. I showed her in my app and on the printed recielt and she said there was nothing she could do so I called the 1-800 # and they told me they expire at different times on the day it expires so it’s best to use the day before. I told them that was bogus because an expiration time was not listed on the information. After speaking to 2 different agents and told the same thing, I just gave up. A month later I tried using an ECB on the day it stated it expired and the cashier said the system was saying invalid. No biggie, I figured I’d call 1-800# and get it reissued. Same thing. Agent kept saying it was expired and needed to be used day before expiration. Again, I tried till I was black and blue in the face that it does not state on the ECB “expired on 8/31/2020 at 6 pm EST.” All she said was sorry for the inconvenience. I asked for a different agent and again was told the same thing. I’m trying to use up all my ECB so I don’t have to deal with them anymore. It’s ridiculous that they make up stuff like this.

FYI, the CG Easy Breeze Brow Fill+Define pencils are now $6.49 each at all the CVSs I checked near me in Harrisburg PA.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the feedback! Good to know the price near you!

  3. Yolanda

There’s a rebate for 100% back on purchase of Poise Silhouette on Fetch making it an awesome money maker!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Thanks for sharing, Yolanda!

  4. muquee

FYI on the Nivea lotion shown, they were $5.49 at all CVS in my area and I noticed yesterday, they increased to $5.99.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for letting us know the price on those in your store!

  5. sue

The Nivea body lotion as coupon expired on 8/29. The $3/2 men’s body wash coupon is available. Any good scenario?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Sue! I still find the expiration listed above to be valid on the Nivea Lotion coupon. Sometimes the coupons can vary by region. Hope this helps!

  6. Lin

    1) Thanks for the above information regarding early expiration of EB. I will be careful to use early.
    2) Have any of you reached the end of carepass first year? Did it automatically renew and if so for what price? This past year I thought it was a good deal but I am not sure it is worth it as printable coupons have been fewer, the deals have declined, and I am thinking about cancelling as my year will be up this month. Has anyone cancelled and how did they do it?
    Thank you!

  7. riss

I went to the store today and bought 4 crest toothpaste 4.6 oz and with all my coupons (not EB) in the app, i only paid 49 cents each toothpaste! Plus got $5 EB 🙂 I usually wait for a good sale and pay only taxes on toothpaste, or sometimes 50 cents like today, and then get some EBs making it a moneymaker, thanks to hip2save.

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Woohoo! Thanks for sharing your deal, Riss! Love it!

  8. Anna Kasinec

Which App coupons did you use?

    • riss

I had a $3 off whitening kit or treatment (except toothpaste) , but it took $3 off even though I only bought toothpaste. Then a $1 off Crest toothpaste, and $6 off 4 Crest toothpaste/products. I’m thinking this was from $3 off $18 worth of oral care products, and I had 2 of those coupons with different expiry dates. Not really sure, but that’s what it says on the receipt- 4 crest toothpaste =$6 off.

  9. msmacmatsu

The Crest 3D white toothpaste deal is buy 2 to get EB *NOT* buy 1

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks, msmacmatsu, we do mention “if included” in the post. I do see now that it is not included in buy 1, get $3 EB sale. I will update the post with one of the included toothpastes; thanks for the heads up.
