“We are loving this Hoop security camera! It’s compact, but it’s packed with features! Some of the things we love: realtime 2-way communication, app controls that move the camera in any direction, and the ability to record anytime or take snapshots. We also love that it takes a quick 10-second video when it detects any motion – all for no extra fees!
We use our Echo Show 5 a lot for video chat back and forth, and this camera really outshines the Show in a lot of areas. The real-time communication is nice and crisp, even if you’re across the room. The app gives you the ability to pan the camera up/down and around in a full circle which is an improvement over the Show. It’s also got night vision so you get a great image even in the wee hours.
It was super easy to set up though we did have some issues finding the app. It won’t come up when you search for Hoop Home as suggested; I recommend searching Hoop Camera to find it more quickly.

Can it be used outdoors?
On the FAQ’s it says, “Currently, this camera can not handle the outside elements such as rain, sleet, or snow. Also, the cameras are not battery operated and needed to be plugged in to function.”
Does it store video to look at later or is that an additional fee?
It says you can have free five-day continuous motion recording with a compatible microSD card (256 GB). You won’t be able to view it on the app, but you can use a microSD card reader adapter on your desktop computer to watch it.
Actually, they just released an update and you can now see everything from the SD card directly on your phone.
Also, the microSD limit is 1tb
