A few years ago I did a deal on here for these, and a lady had commented that she cuts her tabs in half. Ever since then, that’s what I do, so they go twice as far. I have never had an issue with dishes being clean. 🌟

How do you cut through the ball?
that was my tip! the red ball thingy is only in half of your loads, it doesn’t break, but it has made no difference to the cleanliness of my dishes. the tabs are just that powerful.
i DO NOT pre-rinse, and i’ve done this with a few different brands of dishwashers (due to moving). i’ve done this when we had soft water or hard, and it doesn’t seem to matter.
i use Jet-Dry finish rinse aid.
i break the tab in half when it is still in the foil pack. i never get that build-up in my dishwashers that needs special cleaning.
Diane, I just use a knife and cut it gently, and the ball will cut fine if I’m lucky but sometimes half of it will fall out. I keep my halves in a shallow container and I just grab the little red half and throw it in with the half a tab. Or like Rebecca said, could just go without!? 👍
