I advise you actually take the time to measure out you child’s face. I almost grabbed the kids pack for my 10 year old, but once I saw the measurements, it was 7” across the face, and that is way too small for him. He’s not a very big kid either. These masks are reviewed to run very small in the kid’s sizes, so I’m thinking toddler and early elementary.
Thanks so much for the helpful warning! Good to know!
These are too small for my 9 year old, and barely fit my 7 year old. These mask maybe good for 6 and younger, like toddlers.
Oh bummer. Thanks a bunch for the helpful feedback!
I feel like masks can be hit and miss and you just have to try them out. My 6 year’s old head is just hard to fit a mask on. He has a very big round head (100% percentile) but his profile is kind of shallow and his chin is kind of short so the masks always want to fall below his nose.
Yes! SO true. My kids had to try out a few before they each found their favorite style. Thanks for taking a moment to comment!
Has anyone found a good brand for the older kids? I also decided against Crayola based on the reviews. I have an average sized 11 year old. Kids ones are usually too small & adult ones are too big
I bought the kid’s mask from target for my 10 year old. It’s a little snug, but it’s the best fitting one I’ve found so far.
Hi, MK’sMom,
My 11 year old can’t wear children’s/kid’s size masks so we’ve tried a few, and we both like Old Navy’s adult masks with adjustable ear elastic straps. They’re pretty economical, 5/$12.50, in a variety of patterns, they just came out with Christmas patterns, too. I wash and dry them when they first arrive to remove the sizing and for any shrinkage, and they’re the ones he grabs and uses the most.
I have made all my kids’ masks and they fit great! They all got to pick the colors or designs they wanted and I made adjustments as necessary to have the masks fit each and every one of them perfectly. Sewing is a great life skill that everyone should learn IMO.
The Crayola kids masks are SOO small. They barely fit my 3 year old who is average sized. I was disappointed because they seemed well made and colorful. I did order some of the lanyards to try. We like the Cat & Jack masks from Target. My kids (8, 6, 5) prefer to wear them upside down. Wish they offered both the old, bigger size and the new [smaller] fit though!
These are our favorite masks. The child size fit my 6 year old perfectly with plenty of room to adjust. The adult size fits me and my husband (I just have to adjust smaller if he was the last one to wear it). They’re SO much more comfortable than any of the others we’ve tried.
Our favorite too! They fit my 3 and 5 year olds both great and I love that I can buy one pack and just adjust to fit both of them.
Walmart had a bin of Halloween masks for kids and adults. They had a jack-o-lantern one like this that my kids love. I don’t know how much they were but no more than $4 for sure.
Thanks for pointing this out, Joni! We will look for those!
I’ve been seeing a lot of handmade face masks on Mercari for kids and adults.
