Do you ever buy something and think you should have bought two or three?! That’s this sign! Such high quality! It shipped super quickly too. Love it and can’t wait to buy more.

I ordered the “Be Still & Know” framed art piece and it literally took my breath away upon opening the package. The seller truly made sure the art was secured before shipping (wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a box versus a padded mailer). I will definitely order another art piece soon!

Mother Theresa never said that quote and it’s been wildly used to play down woman’s role on our society.

Whoever said the quote, not sure how it can be used to play down women’s role in society. I don’t interpret it as targeting women or men. Just is a reminder that whatever chaos goes on outside our homes, we have the power and opportunity to make a difference within our own. If ‘going home and loving your family’ is seen as playing down, God help us.
Anyway, thanks H2S for posting these signs. They look beautifully made!

during the women’s rights march, many chanted this quote to those who marched. basically saying, “stay at home and concede to the stereotypical housewife, don’t march.” so yes, it’s easily taken out of context.

It’s a paraphrasing of a portion of her Nobel speech and we shouldn’t be cowed from displaying the sentiment because a few crappy people somewhere out there took it out of context (although this strikes me as one heck of an awkward chant…). I’m quite certain Jane.com – which describes itself as “inspiring women to lead confident lives” – isn’t trying to promote patriarchy.

Agreed. As someone who left a high profile career to stay home with the kids a few years (and largely feels forgotten or looked down upon by society writ large), I think it’s a very sweet quote reminding me that my identity and power isn’t solely wrapped up in my work outside the home. I know my neighbor, a stay at home dad, feels the similar, so not sure what gender has to do with it.

I agree! This sentiment to me meant that the people we impact most in the present and for future generations are our families. How we treat our spouses and children affects how they treat others and how they, in turn, choose to live their lives and treat their families. Please don’t take a positive message and make it something it isn’t. As a working mother and a family who supports volunteering and giving to those who need help, I strongly believe that my first responsibility is to my family.
